Let's hear it for POLITICAL MODERATES !!!
"We Political Moderates are very diverse...
Some Moderates identify as Republicans, some as Democrats, and some have no particular political identity. Some of us don't pay much attention to politics, but others are Senators and sometimes even Presidents....we will vote for someone in the other party in a heartbeat if we like their values.... Some of us think of ourselves as quite traditional and conservative...Some of us are very religious, some less so, some not at all. We are not in your face about these things, and we do not want you in our faces. Some of us own guns, and some of us do not. The ones who own guns do not think everyone needs to have one, and the ones that do not are not trying to have their neighbor's guns taken away. We moderates are suspicious of certainty. We can have strong political opinions, but we are willing to listen to someone else's point of view as long as they are not trying to ram it down our throats or snooker us. We are proud of our Country but think that it is perfectly OK for people in other countries to be proud of theirs. We are not particularly interested in seeing America dominate the world. We believe neither in squeezing every bit of economic value out of the land as quickly as possible, nor banning all development everywhere. We do not particularly like people telling us that we have to do something or cannot do something, but we also know that giving free reign to anything anyone wants to do is a recipe for disaster. We have no problem at all with mandates or limits when the balance is right. We are fiscal conservatives in the older meaning of the phrase, from when being conservative meant not running up huge debts. We believe that there is a place for moderation in American politics. In fact, we think that Moderation is America's greatest political tradition. We assign the title Great to Presidents who exemplified balance, moderation, and tolerance, Presidents like Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt and Dwight Eisenhower. We do not like people from either extreme of the political spectrum to put words in our mouths. We do not yell at them when they try this, but we might just laugh at them behind their backs! Moderates do not band together for political conventions, party headquarters, mass mailings, buttons with faces on them, lawn signs, or fund-raising calls at dinnertime. For one thing, we are too busy living our lives to spend time coming up with these things. And we really do not need them. Extremists from both sides of the spectrum assume that Moderates are sheep to be led around by the nose, right up to the point when we surprise them by being smarter than they think."

Well said.
Although these are very generalized statements, and there are of course, exceptions to every rule. I would have to say on a general bases, you are absolutely accurate.
It is sad really, but true.
I am a Liberal Democrat, and absolutely agree that my party lacks organization, and vision. I also agree with the continuous hypocrisy that is the Republican party. There is corruption, scandal and deceit on both sides of the spectrum. And of course, I absolutely agree that the bashing from either side is redundant and useless.
I would like to point out though, that these reasons, and more, reinforce why we need a balance of power in our government. Maybe if there was a good balance, the politicians could spend a little less time working against each other, and get back to the business of leading our country.

There are quite a number of people here who understand that our elected representatives don't represent us, but rather their political parties.
The parties keep a tight reign on those who don't follow their orders to the letter (witness Murtha and Lieberman). The parties' first concern is to payback those corporations, special interests and lobbyists that contributed to the national campaign funds. Then the politicians payback those organizations that contributed to their personal campaigns. By the time they are done it is time for re-elections and that is when they pay lip service to their constituents, but don't do anything for them.
That is why we need a real third party that will change the status quo.

There aren't any absolutes. it truly is an absolute actuality. BTW, the guy above me does no longer comprehend superstates of quantum mechanics. Superstates have no longer something to do with absolutes. the concept of superstates is that you'll't comprehend something until eventually you open the field and degree it; and that the technique of measuring can replace its state. So at the same time as in the field, you do not comprehend what the state it. it is a. it would want to be B. So the object is in the superstate A and B. no longer understanding the state of an merchandise and the life of absolutes are autonomous and prefer minded concepts.

registered Green out of desperation viewing this as soon as i could 12 years ago.
Politicians should be more like soliders in suits with daily professional casualties. The difference between our political contemporaries and our forefathers are the differences between hellbound patriots and casual professionals.
