You question ignores the fact that Republicans don't put up with Foley's type of behavior, while Democrats do (when a Democrat does something like that).
Republicans would never elect a Senator who kills a woman, doesn't report it, and tries to cover it up. Democrats do elect such a man, Ted Kennedy (D-Ma).
Foley was disposed of as soon as his 'behavior' made public. Democrats of course, not only support Foley-like behavior when one of their own commits the act, but they keep re-electing him.
Democrats never resign when caught in a scandal...they deny, then run for re-election, accusing their opponents of playing politics.
You're about to see another example of major Democratic scandal in the person of Senator Harry Reid... seems that he lied on a number of financial disclosure forms (required to be filled out by members of Congress)...the mainstream media won't cover it, but the story will get out there.
Also, I love the way you liberals kept telling us during the Clinton years "why are you republicans attacking Clinton now, while he's President? Let him finish the work of the American people, THEN when he's out of office, feel free to go after him all you want...but don't interrupt the job he's doing for the American people!"
Then, Clinton leaves office, and you liberals say "why are you bringing this up NOW, he's not President any more?"...
Idiots. No wonder you can't win an election.

When some of the democrats that are pointing fingers at the republicans have pasts such as this, it is perfectly legitimate to show their past: Pelosi voted three times to make a convicted page sexual predator,
former Congressman Gerry Studds (D-Mass.), chair of a congressional committee.
In 1990, Pelosi voted against censuring Barney Frank for having his live-in boyfriend
run a prostitution ring from Frank's apartment.
Pelosi raised no objections when Clinton pardoned Democrat Congressman Mel Reynolds (Ill.)
who had been convicted of felonies for having had sex with a 16-year-old campaign worker.
The historic Nancy Pelosi is an authentic representative of San Francisco liberal values and hardly
has the record to lecture anyone on cleaning up the Congress.

Yeah, this is a very lame debating tactic. These people think it somehow discredits some one who may say something they don't like. " A mule is an animal with big funny ears. It kicks up at anything it hears " ..." ...just plain stupid with a stubborn streak "
The Clenis won't give them much mileage outside of a small group of zealots who want to generalize.
I like to remind Republicans that Bush stole the 2000 election outright and fraud probably got him elected a second time as well.

Everyone wants to believe they are with the "chosen" party so just like in any relationship gone sour they look to place blame. The reality is all of the parties need to look more closely at themselves and stop blaming each other.

This is a very good point. They cannot take responsibility. I thought morality and responsibility were republican values. Maybe that is a republican attitude and not a neo-conservative value.

The past defines the present and the future......and the democrats never learn from their mistakes, so they will make the same ones.
