Given the way the administrations have treated Puerto Rico, a US territory, does it make you proud that the PR government had to shut down because it ran out of money? Does it make you proud to back a so-called "democratic" government when, for PR, there is taxation without representation AND the right to vote in US elections?

I don't understand why some people tend to be so negative about Police Officers. There are some lame movies and this famous story about donuts. Jeez, Police Officers are amazing people. I'm not saying all are, however, it doesn't apply to each and every one of them. I always see them driving by patrolling the area and I feel safe. It's not their fault people drive too fast without a seatbelt, or do drugs and participate in illegal acts.

As a 16-year-old I really appreciate what they do. And how they encourage youth to lead themselves to the path of righteousness. While we're sleeping in bed these people are out protecting their community. They too have a family to return to. So do Firefighters who run into burning buildings to save a life. And Paramedics who give the same care to their patients like doctors only difference is that they do it at scene alone with a crowd watching by or in a house with extra dim lights.

When I came back to America the white people here are different their racist, arragant, uneducated, live in trailers, can barely speak their own language and they stink. And to top it off their conservative. We Europeans are Liberal, smart can speak atleast 4 languages and we have the best health care system in the world. Wich is also FREE. SHAME ON YOU DUMB @SS AMERICANS.

Since 1994 Conservatives have dominated the political scene thanks due in large part of the Democrats' hitching their wagon to homosexuality, and rejecting traditional values. Today, Conservatives enjoy control of: The House, Senate, White House, majority of Governorships, majority of State Houses, #1 Cable News, #1 Book Sellers, and basically The Supreme Court.

When are liberals going to wake up and kick gays out of the DNC?

Katrina kills a lot of people, displaces a lot more, and people have cast their blames in various directions. Who is to blame?

a) George Bush Jr; the President didn't act properly, didn't take it seriously, didn't send enough resources to the region or?

b) State Officials; didn't have or get the resources to the people, didn't communicate with the federal or local government and let everyone down?

c) Local officials; Mayor, Police Chief and others in the region didn't get people evacuated, didn't tell people to evacuate in time, didn't get federal officials involved in time?

d) The people; they didn't evacuate when told, didn't have ample supplies, didn't have ample transportation and suffered the worst?

My only remaining comment is in all the news stories and editorials last year about Katrina - I saw no one blaming the people? I choose "D" because I believe we are responsible for ourselves; but what do you choose?
