yipes that's a real generalization.... do you know all the "whites"???...... everyone needs to stop these ridiculous generalizations, stereotyping, and biases.... in other words prejudice!...as soon as you generalize people/ classify them and assign them certain labels / attributes your as guilty of prejudice as the ones you are attempting to accuse of the same thing....intelligent people get to know people on an individual basis.. they don't sling mud at a whole group of people because of the race or ethnic group they were born into... no one can choose a race or ethnic group they are born into or has control over others in that group we can only control and take responsibility for our own ideas and actions...

I'm white and don't blame anyone for the problems except the people involved in creating them, which are people of all races.

At the same time though a good example is crime rate. The crime rate per capita is higher among minorities. I attribute this to social problems among the minority population. i.e. single parent households, income, living environment, peer pressure.

As far as any socio-economic problem that anyone has, I do feel you can rise above it. I was raised in a alcoholic-drug addict household way below the poverty line. I was able to get away from "falling into the trap". I went into the military, then college. I am now vice president of a large corporation.

Although my example may not be someone else's way out. There are many examples of people rising out of poverty and living productive lives. The hardest thing is taking the risk. I also feel that personal responsibility is key to a successful life.

I am white and do not blame blacks or hispanics for any economic problems. But I what I can't stand is working the 9to5 grind everyday, every week, while lazy people milk the government for welfare and medicaid and stay home and watch Jerry Springer. Then I look at all the taxes they take out of my check to support any of these bums whether they are black, white, or hispanic. And whats up with free medical, I just paid over a thousand dollars of MY money at the hospital for my son, while the unemployed get away with out paying their bills!

By claiming that all US whites have the same opinion, you are just as guilty of racism as those who you are questioning.

Not all whites share that opinion. In fact, I don't personally know any that do. The only socio-economic complaint that I ever hear is about people who choose to do nothing with their lives and live off of their fellow citizens through government programs.

Certainly you're not saying that all welfare recipients are blacks and Mexicans, are you?

Not all US whites but only those US whites blame US blacks and mexicans for all the socio-economics problems who do not have strength, energy, power to achieve something in life.

To answer your question with a question isn't fair I know, but I cant help it. Why do today's Black Americans blame todays White Americans for something that happened 100 years ago. It's all a blame game, when your down, you point your finger at somebody else because it couldn't be your own dam fault, it has to be someone elses.(note the sarcasm)

i am a US Black...and I agree...very large generalization there. Alot of whites blame blacks and hispanics, but alot of blacks blame whites and hispanics too. I don't really have an answer to that one. US Whites do cause alot of their own problems, but it can be stated that some blacks and hispanics cause problems for them as well, just as some blacks or hispanics have problems caused on their lives by whites, but at the same time, we as black people cause alot of our own problems. Whenever folks stop looking at black/white, rich/poor, pretty/ugly, fat/skinny, whatever, and look at why are people causing socio economic problems to other people, i think then we can find answers and move on. (will it ever happen though, doubt it.)

Whites don't blame them, they gripe about them. Griping is different and its due to the taxes they pay for illegal immigrants, for blacks that for some darn reason are more prone to end up in prison (per capita) then others. Its not a blame - its more of a concern - but of course its taken as a blame because that fits the mold of those who "oppose" whites.

You know you can reverse the ethnic groups that you have in that question in any order and get the same answer: it's easier to blame someone else than it is to do something about it. Thank the original Dr. Phil, Phil Donahue for that. Okay, that's not fair to Phil Donahue. Sorry.

Many of those problems are directly due to our open door policies concerning immigration over the years. Also, it's true that much of our economic woes come from our overabundance of poor people, both ethnic and white. But seriously, if you expect any people to blame THEMSELVES for their problems, you don't know people very well.
