Well, unfortunately there are idiots on both sides of the fence. I mean look at some of the things that some of the extreme right wing evangelicals, like Jerry Falwell, have said.
"...I really believe that the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians who are actively trying to make that an alternative lifestyle, the ACLU, People for the American Way—all of them who have tried to secularize America—I point the finger in their face and say "you helped this happen."
In reference to 911
But I do agree with you. That kind of thinking is absurd. On both sides!

Did some one seriously tell you that or did you make it up?
So now GW has a hurricane machine. Coooooooool! I wonder if it only works if he is wearing the tin foil hat he borrowed from Al Gore?

No one said that.
The only time I've read this in when someone completely misquoted Bill Clinton at a speech he gave in Florida, and that was asked by a Conservative.
So you can call that Conservative ignorant, yes.

They no doubt were referring to GW. Then they'll say he was there blowing up levies first hand to make the poor and black people suffer even more. Its really sad how far they will take the rhetoric of hate to the left.

Feel free, it's a free country...or at least it was. Just be sure you're standing in a designated "free speech zone" when you say what's on your mind though. Nearest one to your house is 85 miles North.

Sure, you can call them ignorant. You may not be right, but you have the right to say it.
The first amendment does give you the right to say anything you like, whether people agree with it or not. It does not give you the right to be listened to, or taken seriously.
