Why do the LIBTURDS play politics with the war on terror, when there are so many American lives at stake?

Had the G.O.P. done similarly during WWII, we would all be speaking German, today.

Hello, I see you are another failed student of our wonderful "No child left behind act." The Republicans and Democrats were entirely different entities in 1940's, which must be a complicated concept. Well, at least you can use a computer. Republicans are using the war on terror politically more so than the democrats. There are absolutely 0 lives at stake in this, just like in WWII. WWII was in Europe, the funny word your teacher tried to make you spell over and over. Europe is a long way from North America. Germany wouldn't have had the resources to hold the territory they had aquired with the Russians attacking them from the East. Believe it or not but the G.O.P. back then as with most Americans did not want us to go to war in Europe, that is why we waited till the war was almost over before showing up. Please don't drop out of school kids.

That question is ignorant. I am a leftist (socialist) on economic issues but I am not usually liberal when it comes to moral or social issues. I love my country and my military. I am patriotic. I am not anti- U.S.A. I think you are also confused about the difference between political parties and ideology. Democrat and Republican are political parties in our two party system. Liberal and conservative are political ideologies. Not all liberals are democrats. Some are socialists and even libertarians. Both Democrats and Republicans are open prey for lobbyists and usually obey their corporate paymasters. They simply go with the highest bidder. There is little difference between the two parties. Open your mind and think about third parties. Educate yourself on political philosophy and you will have a better understanding of international relations and world events. And by the way, the U.S. success in WWII had nothing to do with Republicans or Democrats. It was a united effort on the part of all Americans. And the presidents at the time of the war were Democrats by the way. Roosevelt and Truman. It was Truman's ultimate decision to drop the bomb that effectively ended the war. But there is also some debate over that issue too. It has been reported that the Japanese tried numerous times to surrender the summer before the bomb was dropped.

You talk about American lives. What about our soldiers who are fighting a war IN THE WRONG COUNTRY and dying while Bush learns how to pronounce "nuclear" over a turkey dinner-knowing full and well people's children are dying because of his LIES. And how can you act like the Administration isn't playing politics. Explain how every time November elections draw near we hear more stumped "terror plots" in this country on the news or Bush's ever so carefully written speeches glorying his conquest against terror as if only conservatives can stop them. You say that isn't politics?

Democrats aren't anti-U.S.A.: they just have different solutions for problems our country faces.

Instead of invading a country that is tangentially related to terrorism, at best, and was never an imminent threat to the U.S., why not but most of those resources into finding Bin Laden? Saddam couldn't hit Israel with a Scud at the height of his power, while Bin Laden demonstrated the kind of threat he is.

Democrats likely would have gone to war in Afghanistan (in hopes of getting Bin Laden & toppling the Taliban), but not Iraq. And they would have put a tad more effort into getting troops body armor & formulating a post-war plan and an exit strategy.

Meanwhile, the GOP has played politics with the 9/11 disaster starting on 9/12 & almost every day since. They have taken countless actions to profit politically & divide this nation as it hasn't been divided in decades. The day that the loyal opposition packs it in & follows like sheep is the day democracy dies.

Democrats aren't anti-USA. Liberals appear to be though. We had the same problem in WWII. FDR (a democrat) had to deal with a bunch of screaming from the liberals in that it was not our problem nor our war. If we hadn't have been attacked ourselves and had war declared on us from Germany, I really don't know if we would have gone in or not. I can't say what might have happened.
But then again, Democrats then were pretty different than the democrats we see today.

I am proud to be an American. I am proud to have a child in the United States Navy. I am proud of being married to a union member. I am in awe of my great grandfather who was awarded the Congressional Medal of Honor. Both my Father, and my Father-in-law served their country in WW2. Sadly, my Mother lost a brother in that war. I place my hand over my heart when I see the flag because I was taught to show respect always to those who have served.

I vote in every election, local and national. I have worked full time for the past 25 years. I own my home, pay my taxes, and respect my neighbors and co-workers with my actions and words.

I am a Democrat because I was raised to value and respect a life lived with honor and pride in citizenship.

Since I don't find myself sitting at the right hand of any entity, and keeping my own nose clean keeps me pretty busy, I don't have many opportunities to waste time putting all my acquaintances in a red or blue column. Those who have chosen to ride the Red, White, and Blue train for personnel financial gain and an aura of grandeur somehow have to sleep at night. I choose to align myself with those whose very lives reflect patriotic color.

There are no words I can write to make you see America through my eyes, but I do stand right next to you in the commitment to this land of the free.

Do your parents know that you're a homosexual?

Your question and mine are both examples of "loaded questions", questions that assume premises that are untrue or have not been generally agreed upon by both side of the debate. Such questions are examples of logical fallacy (called loaded question or fallacy of many questions) because there is no accurate way to answer them in standard logical forms.

In philosphical circles, "woof" is sometimes considered to be an appropriate answer to a loaded question.

In tech circles, coders and hackers often use the word "mu" as an appropriate answer.

Achtung!

What, you don't think the Republicans were playing politics during WWII.

Tell you what, how about telling me who even ran against Roosevelt in his four terms in office, and what their platforms were? He did have opposition you know. Do you have any freaking idea what they were actually saying?
