John Murtha is a hero. He served his country which is more than can be said for the majority of chicken hawks out there and most of your replies so far. He is a staunch defender of the military and has been for years. He has never said anything about the men and women serving in the military he only has tried to point out the failed policies and plan that is being mismanaged in Iraq.
It is sad that anyone who disagrees with that criminal in the White House is a traitor. Well if he's a traitor then so am I.

No, John Murtha is not a traitor. That's the great thing about our country. You have the right to say almost anything you want. But then the people of Pennsylvania have the right to vote him out of office. Freedom of speech does not mean freedom from consequences! God bless America!

He's a decorated war hero who loves this country and loves he troops. He has done so much for this country and his service has been exemplary. He has a love for the military and his job gives him the direct responsibility to do what he can to protect and support the troops who are in Iraq on a failed Repulbican policy.
He is not stupid. He asks relavent questions, like how many hours of electric power each day are available in the different provinces, and how many different groups are we fighting, and what are the Oil production numbers from Iraq from month to month, and how many incidents and deaths have their been? How many hospital beds are there? How many injured troops? How is the reconstruction money being spent? Every single senator and congressmen should be asking these questions, but only he does. He's doing his job in the most patriotic way imaginable.
Name one republican with a more distinguished military background then him. Cheney, Bush? What a joke! Not even John McCain's record is as distinguished as Murtha's. You should listen to his unedited comments and watch him when he talks, you can see that he really, really cares. Many, many troops and generals respect him and are loyal to him.
Once again Republicans prove that they HATE and SLANDER the troops if the troops are Democrats. Vote this november and give them what they deserve.

Unless all of you people have actually served your country and received any one of the following medals:
the Bronze Star with Valor
2 Purple Hearts
the Vietnamese Cross of Gallantry (from the South Vietnamese, before anyone without an education starts calling him a traitor for that - although I'm sure some of you will anyway).
and the Navy Distinguished Service Medal.
I'll take the advice of a man who volunteered to risk his life in service of his nation and served it with dignity and honor over a president who used wealthy connections to avoid service by taking a fake stint in the National Guard, and a Vice-President who took five exemptions to avoid serving his country.
Nice try. You can disagree with him and that's fine, but to dare call him a traitor is the shameful activity of weak and feeble minds.
If you're so sure this is a good war, then sign up and fight it.

Murtha is a patriotic American who has a difference of opinion with the President regarding our military presence in Iraq. Personally I think those who shout "traitor" whenever someone disagrees with the government are a bigger threat to the US than than the Iraqi insurgency. Those insurgents are capable only of isolated acts of terrorism, but the rise of domestic fascism could destroy our democracy.

way to talk about a war hero like that.
Murtha has Bronze Star with Valor, two Purple Hearts and the Cross of Gallantry. He retired from the Reserves as a colonel in 1990, receiving the Navy Distinguished Service Medal.
I guess this is your way of spitting on vets, especially ones that oppose this war.

No. Trying to change things for the betterment of your country does not a traitor make.
Knowing when you've lost a battle and deciding to leave does not make you a coward either. It shows wisdom.

He is not a traitor. And accusations are not the same as guilt. In american politics, republicans accuse (and insult) everyone who disagrees with their position.
Dems wish you'd stop. Its getting old.
