I was watching the republican debate when this topic came up. If we take into consideration the utilities and energy used, paper wasted, personnel hired to work for the IRS (clerks, telephone helpers, IRS agents, etc.), building maintenance, benefits, plus whatever costs I may havemissed, how much would the federal government really save if we totally got rid of the IRS per the fair tax bill?

I have asked under 7 different profile, which "scenario" causes more global warming --person C or Person H

Person A drives hummers and vipers, but reproduce at a rate of 2 children per generation.

Person H has teen pregnancies and arises 3 kids by the type person H reaches age i2s0p.

(age 20)

Any comments? I am free to open/opposing commentary.

My point is that, to stop global warming, its not by the quality of breathes we take, but by the quantity of breaths we enable in our future.

I actually condone when a cockasian couple has 2.2 children that drive hummers, when 5 miles away, their wasp anic counterparts have 7 children they all drive toyota prius's.

Will an "open minded" democrat hold hands with this open-minded conservative, and admit that over-population is the real pandemic? and only logical decisions can thwart our inadvertent destruction?

...Why can't I have it??????

The guy in the federal prison system that has proven that he can't live or function in normal society to such a degree that he'll never contribute to it in a positive way gets all his needs taken care of.

many of the prisoners at Gitmo aren't terrorists...but some are. These people that would kill the children of the "Great Satan" (USA) by the millions if they could? THEY get taken care of with the best we have to offer. They get preventative MRIs for heaven's sake.

If THESE people get it and it's fine, why is government sponsored, single-payer care bad for me? Someone who contributes. Someone who is a decent person and has never purposely harmed another, why do I (or you) deserve less than these people?

A couple weeks ago they were crowing about the small number of hurricanes this season, thinking this completely disproved global warming. But the LONG-TERM trend in hurricanes is up, and it is linked to rising temperatures. It's a long-term trend, people.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/08/05/AR2007080501281.html

"About twice as many hurricanes are occurring in the Atlantic Ocean now, compared with 100 years ago, according to a study, in large part because of warmer sea surface temperatures and new wind patterns driven by global warming."

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A Senate bill to cut U.S. greenhouse gas emissions would raise energy prices and also reduce American economic output by more than half a trillion dollars over two decades, according to a government report released on Monday.

However, the proposal would cut into the U.S. economy and raise gasoline and other energy prices paid by consumers, according to an analysis of the legislation by the Energy Information Administration.

The legislation "increases the cost of using energy, which reduces real economic output, reduces purchasing power, and lowers aggregate demand for goods and services," the EIA said.

With companies trying to meet the shrinking emissions levels, U.S. economic output would be $533 billion lower over the 2009 to 2030 time period, the agency said.

We'd actually talk without worring about looking like "wimps" and actually listen to others! We'd actually CARE about people's health, well being, and the safety and well being of children! Right now, the only women in any power are the ones who compromise those basic values in order to "make it" (e.g., Hillary Clinton)!

as some of you may or may not know the fairness doctrine is a big issue going around congress today,

there are many reasons for it, mainly truth is a higher goal then capitalism, and a view point shouldn't be censored bc one group can simply out spend the other.

and there are many reasons against it, mainly to protect freedom of speech, many news providers (both content and station) are produced for a purpose (i.e. religion, political) and no one should be forced to broadcast something that they don’t believe in

personally I’m against it bc if it passes all it will accomplish is insane, low budget, inadequate representation of the counter view point. So they are technically in the letter of the law, but with out any real communication of truth
