It seems like that's what we're getting, but no one is openly advocating it. I realized the lobbies are behind it, but I'm wondering if any individuals on YA favor corporate statism? If so, please explain.

NO. It makes me made that my country has been hijacked by corporate interests.

The best way for you to become enlightened about our situation is to read. There are many good books on the subject. Manufacturing Consent by Chomsky can be gotten from your library. Albert Gores new book Assault on reason.

The US has never been a democracy it was set up as a republic. The ratification of the fourteenth amendment that was to give freed slaves rights was construed by the courts to mean rights for corporations as well as citizens.

This set up the corporatocracy as it exists today. The corporations, government and a controlled press mislead the public. This is actually the definition of a fascist state as set up my Mussolini in Italy.

The only way we as a individual can change things is by voting .
Watching the news on tv is a waste of time they tend to only report fluff and they only glance over important stuff. The advertisers want them to entertain and keep the media in line by the revenue stream if they don't get what they want they stop advertising. We can change this by demanding equal time and refusing to buy from the advertisers of the news shows.

If this makes you mad then become informed and ask your congressman and senators for an article V convention.

You can learn more about and article V convention by going tohttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Article_Five_of_the_United_States_Constitution

As someone working on their PHd in History, you are surely familiar with Noam Chomsky. I agree with Chomsky's assertion that the corporations have been the true rulers of the United States for decades, That is to say, America is ruled by the capitalists and less by the people in the democratic process.

No.

What has happend more than ever durring this adminstration is the notion of privitization in order to give more tax payer money to corparation that in turn use it to buy influence in politics.

I am worried because there is a sense that there no real countries but instead, buisnesses buying influence to benifit themselves whether oil or any other comdity.

i believe in the power of poeple educated and acting in mass. though.

It's not happening, and won't, so don't worry about it. Not that it would be a bad thing -- a corporation has to keep its customers, vendors, employees, and owners all happy in order to survive.
