complicated sentences. What's happened since that now makes him sound like a mentally challenged person at times?

I have issues with the idea of government-run health insurance. I really don't have a definitive position - I am still trying to learn more.

But one of many questions I have is this: assuming for the moment that the government will institute a program "to make sure all Americans have health insurance," can't this goal be accomplished without going to a "single payer" system? Why can't the people relatively happy with the status quo keep the insurance they have? And if Medicaid or another program needs expansion, just address unmet needs in that or a similar program?

I'm sure I'm missing something here. Maybe there are great advantage to a complete government overhaul of the system. But it could also be that wrongheaded government regulations have distorted the market and caused (or worsened) the problems we already have!

Any knowledgable opinions or information would be helpful. thanks.

Studies have shown that the 'Red' states fall behind the 'Blue' states in education and income.

Should the rich states in the North pay more in taxes to distrubute their money to the South to help the poorer states become equal to them? More money will help the 'Red' states build better schools and give better tax incentives to get more higher paying job to the South.

This would be a good thing. Everyone would be equal to each other.

Or are the 'Blue' states just greedy?

Our friends on the left love to tell us how the Founding Fathers of America were Non-Christians who were the very foundation of modern liberalism. They were these open minded, free thinking men who embodied all of traits that were intended for all to embrace.

until....we speak of slavery of that era.........

suddenly...and without warning...these founding fathers...these signers of the declaration....these liberal hero's from the left are put through an evolution that would make Charles Darwin Cringe!!!!

NOW...they are right-wing, Republican, Christians who enslaved the black man!!!!!!!

Even the liberal hero Thomas Jefferson (owner of over 100 slaves) is quickly discarded...NO Father of theirs.....they say!

ever notice?

Being as how they both have the same views on Bush, America, our military, Israel and other allies, the war in Iraq, Christianity, etc???

They both agree that either 9/11 was an inside job, or that America's foreign policy is what caused 9/11. They both feel the terrorists at Guantanamo Bay who were captured fighting our troops on the battlefields of Iraq and Afghanistan have been treated badly and should be released. They both think the US military are invaders and the "real terrorists" and that foreign insurgents trying to kill them and disturb the peace over there are "freedom fighters" trying to honorably defend their nation. They both feel the CIA shouldn't be monitoring the conversations of terrorist sympathizers and those who give financial support to them. Both are for the immediate withdrawal of all US troops in the Middle East and the subsequent havoc that would follow. I could list more, but not enough room. What do you think????

The electoricial college seems to do it's own voting even against the majority vote. Isn't it time to stop this curruption? Also would more people be willing to vote if they knew their vote counted?

Since Republicans want to make abortion illegal, I'm just wondering what their plans would be to support the huge boom of unwanted children. More Orphanages, what? We know for a fact they wouldn't considering changing the law so gays could take some of these children. So what's the plan? Or would these children be left to roam the streets uncared for?

4,000 PEOPLE A WEEK TRYING TO LEAVE UK
Sunday August 5,2007
Michael Knapp, Home Affairs Editor

BRITAIN is facing a mass exodus of people looking to escape the crime and grime of modern living. The country's biggest foreign visa consultancy firm has revealed that applications have soared in the last seven months by 80 percent.

And many cite their reason for wanting to quit as immigration to these shores – and the burden it is placing on their communities and local authorities. The dearth of good schools, spiralling house prices, rising crime and tax increases are also driving people away. "Ironically, one of the main reasons for leaving is the overstretch of services due to increasing immigration into the UK. People are looking for the better standard of living offered by other countries, as even the most idyllic villages in Britain are under pressure from rising populations.
