Because sometimes, you're voting for the lesser of two evils.

There's a terrorist bill of rights?!!! Criminals have always pretty much had the same rights as they have always had, of course wealth does add to their rights. Wefare has been expanded far more by Republican presidents and legislatures than any Democrat could have dreamed. PC and illegal immigration were not a problem before 1980 and there has only been one Democrat in office since that time. A Republican congress voted itself one of the best health care and retirement packages in the world. Lastly, who cares if gay people get married? Who do they hurt? How does such an institution affect you in any way at all?
By the way the largest welfare program in the U.S. is the special priviledges that Congress gave themselves.

Well, here's the thing. There are things in your list I agree with and things that I dont. That being the case, Im looking for the candidate that best closely matches my own core beliefs and shares my vision of where this country needs to go.

Right now, I have no idea of who Im going to vote for. I do not believe that all the Democratic candidates support the positions listed above. The two that best closely match are Clinton and Biden, neither of whom I would allow to watch my dog for the weekend. I like a lot of what both Edwards and Obama have to say.

Flip over to the other side, and youll find few Republican candidates that REALLY support those views either. Oh, a few will give lip service to it, but the front runners, Giuliani, McCain, Romney have records that are practically liberal in comparison with other.

Who are you left with?

I voted for Bush....once....and Ill never vote another Bush again. I didnt leave the Republican party, the Republican party left me. Thompson offers no new ideas. Huckabee (sp?) I like, but doesnt seem to have a chance.

Here's my bottom line. Im going to register Dem this year to vote in the primary - for anyone other than Clinton (Biden has no chance - whew!). If she does end up with the nomination, Ill vote the Republican candidate.

Why vote Dem? Because of Bush. Its that simple. Dont want a Dem in the White House? Keep cowboys like GWB out of there and you wont have to worry about it. 'Nuff said.

How could anyone vote Republican??
The Republicans LIED us into the war in Iraq!!!
The Republicans outed a CIA agent working on weapons of mass destruction for vicious political reasons, damaging national security.
The Republicans are fiscally irresponsible, they cut taxes (mostly for the rich and corporations) and have run up the largest national debt ever.
The Republicans advocate torture in violation of the Geneva accords.
The Republicans have engaged in illegal wiretaps in violation of the 4th Amendment.
The Republicans refuse to enforce the immigration laws- it might be inconvenient for corporations.
The Republicans deregulated the financial industry but retained gov't guarantees- again fiscally irresponsible.
The Republicans talk about limited federal government but want the feds in charge of every woman's womb.
The Republicans want to keep gays as second class citizens. They are anti- Liberty
The Republicans tried to cut promised health care for veterans
The list goes on and on.

1. You're stereotyping and generalizing and just plain insulting.
2. I could vote for a democrat because I have yet to see a real republican who still wants smaller government.

Besides, I believe that it's people like you, who believe so strongly against the opposing party just because you've heard other people insult the liberals in the ways you just mentioned. You have yet to give their views a thought or anything. When I was devoutly liberal I STILL thought about conservative views. Which is why I'm not 100% liberal or conservative now. I'm economically conservative and socially liberal.

I think you should grow up and listen to the other side for once. You might learn something.

No one would support the party you describe but that is NOT the Democratic Party although those on the far right wing want people to believe that. The name calling and personal attacks as well as down right lies never seem to stop from that group. They are scared to death to talk real issues, one at a time, because they know they will lose.

One has to admire them as they try to relentlessly spew their lies and hate and it isn't working. More and more people are leaning toward the Democrats. I wouldn't be surprised to see a Democratic landslide at both ends of Pennsylvanina Avenue next year.

I voted for a Demorat in 1972. When he won the primary with 52% but but got only 28% of the states delegates I made a vow never to vote for the scums again. They claim to be the party of the people. BS.

Because they always talk about raising the minimum wage, and people fall for this. Some people don't get it through there head that when the min. wage goes up, cost of production goes up, therefore the price of living goes up, and you're right back where you started. Why do people vote for Democrats? Sheer ignorance.
