I live in Ohio. For 5 straight weeks, the temperature never was above 20 degrees. Seems to me that that is proof positive that global warming is a silly myth made up by liberal tree huggers.

if gun control works so well, what about new york? they have a big crime problem and still have gun control. No the majority of gun violence isnt from citizens who buy from a licensened federal dealer but when they steal from honest citizens via burglary in home, office or car. but mostly through illegal guns on the black market. but think about this. if all the citizens have their firearms removed and only the Police and military are armed then what is the result? Its called a Police state. is that a smart move? sounds a little totalitarian to me. also, for the rural areas where Police have a longer response time? How could u defend your life or loved one's lives? what just reason with a rapist/mugger burglar not to hurt you? beg them to be nice until police arrive? how about the thousands of cases where just the PRESENCE of a firearm detered a violent assualt or murder or rape?! the biased news media wont tell you that will they? 2nd amendment rights!

I know several people who have had their accounts suspended for no other reason than they are conservative and giving back what the liberals dish out. Some how I doubt liberals are being suspended equally as much. Is it because there more liking to report abuse? I don't know about others, but I don't report anything unless its an ad or spam, etc.

Those on the left need to take it as well as they think they give it. WHAT A BUNCH OF BABIES.

I suggest you read up on this before you condem America for destroying the environment

U.N. data show U.S. greener than EU
By Jennifer Harper
THE WASHINGTON TIMES
February 23, 2007

Finger-pointing critics often vilify Americans as the sole cause of global warming. But the typical image of SUV-driving, energy-hogging Yankees may be bogus -- a new analysis of U.N. data reveals that U.S. efforts to reduce greenhouse gases actually beat European policies.
"Despite constant criticism from environmental activists at home and across Europe claiming the U.S. government is doing nothing to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, new evidence suggests America's efforts are more effective than those of Europe's," according to a study by H. Sterling Burnett of the Dallas-based National Center for Policy Analysis, a nonprofit, nonpartisan research institute.
The United States has spent more than any other country on research and technologies to reduce emissions, Mr. Burnett wrote, and the business-led efforts are paying off.
"The U.S. is doing a far better job reining in its emissions than Europe, even though it has a faster-growing economy and population," Mr. Burnett said. "Rather than signing treaties that look good on paper but do nothing to really bring about reductions, U.S. industry has taken the lead as a business matter, reducing emissions as a matter of efficiency -- saving costs and improving the bottom line."
Mr. Burnett's scrutiny of data from the U.N. Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change Report released Feb. 2 revealed that the U.S. rate of growth in carbon dioxide emissions from 2000 to 2004 was eight percentage points lower than from 1995 to 2000. The original 15 nations of the European Union increased emissions by 2.3 percentage points.
From 2000 to 2004, greenhouse gas emissions from the EU countries grew at nearly double the U.S. rate. During the same time period, the U.S. economy grew by almost $1.9 trillion, "the equivalent of adding Italy to the U.S. economy," Mr. Burnett wrote in the analysis, released Wednesday.
The U.S. population increased by 11.3 million people, more than the population of Greece, he found.
"U.S. businesses are succeeding where European bureaucracy is failing," Mr. Burnett said. "Further, efforts like the Asian-Pacific partnership will do far more than [the] Kyoto [Protocol] to have a lasting effect on greenhouse gas emissions."
The Asian-Pacific partnership is a nonbinding plan to cooperate on development and transfer technologies that would enable greenhouse gas reductions.
Meanwhile, Americans may not be quick to buy into the assertions of "An Inconvenient Truth," former Vice President Al Gore's documentary that is in contention for an Oscar award Sunday.
Global warming is not a "top-tier" issue, according to a Pew Research survey of 1,708 adults. Respondents ranked the issue fourth from last in a 23-item list of policy priorities for the White House and Congress. Only 19 percent expressed "deep concern" about global warming. A minority -- 47 percent -- blamed it on human activity. Among conservative Republicans, the figure was 20 percent; among liberal Democrats, 71 percent.
"The issue is of relatively low priority for members of both parties," the survey said. It was conducted Jan. 10 to 15, with a margin of error of three percentage points.

Quick note: I do not believe in man made global warming.

So after all the yelling, screaming, and crying from Europeans over Americas "Co2" emissions and refusal to sign the ridiculous Kyoto protocal - it turns out America is "Greener" than Europe. (Washington Times).

Can anyone explain how this happened?

P.S. Now might be a good time to apologize.

even when the robber barons made millions upon millions of dollars, there were no income taxes. government functioned then, and since washington was the president, without the influx of the worker's tax dollars. then legislation was passed legalizing federal income taxes. taxes are so high, if you were to add up every single penny you spend for every single tax you would find that they equal about 60% of every dollar you spend!

so, i want to know how were government officials paid for their services before the income tax?

how were military campaigns, wars and weapons paid for before the income tax?

how were washington, dc monuments and buildings built before the income tax?

how were national parks run without the income tax?

do you think that a law should be passed that says that our "representatives" should work as volunteers, or at least, that they can't give themselves raises & now pay social security taxes?

are our reps worth our money? why?

I'm so sick of hearing all these people say how the protest the war but support the troops, that’s bull ****. What would you do if they detonated a nuke on U.S. soil or turned our own streets into a war zone. Would you stand and fight (for once in you life.) or would you or continue to cry for peace as they kill and rape your families? None of you seem to see that eventually its going to come down to us against them. So what are you going to do when they come for us?
