Isn't this heading down the slippery slope to facism?

I keep running across that argument; "I'm totally against abortion, unless the mother was raped". If you believe that it is murder, than you are still advocating the murder of an innocent child. The mother could put it up for adoption if she wants nothing to do with it. So what is the logic?

I don't understand how our society can let this happen. Coerced evidence? That's confessions while you are tortured, and there was a thing like this we covered in school called "Witch Trials" where people were tortured until they confessed to practicing witch craft and then murdered under the name of God. Well, now it's "Terrorist Trials" and you are tortured to confess and then murdered in the name of convenience (after all, sorting through all that pesky evidence is to tedious, better to use the rumor mill as evidence). If you are for this (torture), you had better go watch some torture vids on youtube and the web because if that's what you are willing to have your government do, so you had better acknowledge the terrible suffering you implore, the terrible suffering that never had to be, but is.

Regardless of category ...I keep hearing ..."Show me proof"!
Both sides seem to have "experts" to prove their point. Even scientists disagree!
How can the average citizen make an educated decision when there is so much contradiction in opposing views?
Ex: Global warming ...which in fact is poorly labeled and more directly an ozone depletion issue.
9/11 and exactly who is the perpetrator, the questions surrounding our actual agenda in Iraq.....etc.

In fact the average American's opinion and feeling in any category really has no relevance in what is to be done in any event!
Politicians make the laws and the rest of us just learn to deal with it regardless of personal feelings.
Yes you can vote ....but until there is TRULY some reform in regard to special interests groups and lobbyists ....we can all sit in front of our computers and complain ....but little else!

I have nothing in particular in mind, but people must have opinions.

What threat (of any kind) is out there that our government should be addressing, but isn't? Is there something you fear, that we all may be wondering five to ten years from now why we didn't address?

This should be interesting . . .
