Secular progressives (like me!) are people who believe that our social agenda and policies should be set based on what is good for society as a whole and not by religion, while Traditionalists want to maintain the status quo and vote based on religious dogma, even if that means active discrimination and poor conditions for people other than themselves.

By Secular Progressives, I believe O'Rilley means those who believe in the separation of church and state, as well as those who support progress.

Although, since I heard directly from the man's mouth that the character he plays on the O'Rilley Factor is "all an act," I really don't think any intelligent person should be paying too much attention to anything he says.

Secular means outside of relgion, wordly rather than spiritual.

America was founded on religious ideas and Christian beliefs. Meaning our Founding Fathers believed in God and Christ and created our Constitution and laws based on these ideals. Traditionalists believe that we should follow in those beliefs and allow everyone Freedom OF Religion.

The Secular community believe that humans (Americans anyway) have progressed beyond the need to adhere to traditional ideals and to keep God as our latern.

Secular Progressive Americans not only want to deny the importance of God to our nation, they insist that every American do so as well. They believe in Freedom FROM Religion and will do what it takes to have God's name and the bible's influence obliterated from America.

When you see the 10 commandements removed from a court house, teachers prosecuted for reciting the pledge, ministers prosecuted for praying in the name of Jesus, and, in general, courts making decisions about relgious matters (Amendment 14 Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.) that's the work of Secular Progressive thinking.

Bill really doesn't know what he is talking about.
Bill is very dissapointed that World War three didn't occour when Israel bombed Lebannon this past summer.
So now he's hoping for a war between the religeous right and everyone else. It will be good for the ratings and will do wonders for sales of his next book.
Traditionalists can believe whatever they want as long as they don't try to force the rest of us secular progressives to believe in their crap.

Safest answer to this: Secular Progressives are people who would like to see changes in society and traditionalists are people who want society to remain rooted in the way it was when they were growing up.

He and the other far right pundits represent the American Taliban, a branch of Christianity that will only be happy once the US and in fact the whole world follows Christean law. I understand that might sound far fetched to anyone who's used to getting his information from the American media only, yes even the so called liberal media, but those are the facts.
