Global warming is NOT being caused by man. .

Climate change is controlled primarily by cyclical eccentricities in the Earth's rotation and orbit, as well as variations in the sun's energy output.

"Greenhouse gases" in the Earth's atmosphere also influence the Earth's temperature, but in a much smaller way. Human additions to total greenhouse gases play a still smaller role, contributing about 0.2% - 0.3% to Earth's greenhouse effect.

The alliance has not served the UK well for many years. The US is a right-wing, religion-obsessed nation that is quite different to Britain. It is time for the UK to move towards Europe and away from this loathsome country.

Why would you want to watch a news channel with so much obvious bias and misinformation...the viewers are obvious a part of an agenda..what do you think about it?

"The more you watch the Rupert Murdoch-owned Fox News channel, in particular, the more likely it is that your perceptions about the war are wrong, adds the report by the University of Maryland's Program on International Policy Attitudes (PIPA).

Based on several nationwide surveys it conducted with California-based Knowledge Networks since June, as well as the results of other polls, PIPA found that 48 percent of the public believe US troops found evidence of close pre-war links between Iraq and the al-Qaeda terrorist group; 22 percent thought troops found weapons of mass destruction (WMD) in Iraq; and 25 percent believed that world public opinion favored Washington's going to war with Iraq. All three are misperceptions."

Do you think in such an environment that the 'best' answers really get chosen? What do you think of the risks that heavy users can use the time they have to weight the material on answers according to their outlook and prejudices?

There has been a study on web participation that summarises, "In most online communities, 90% of users are lurkers who never contribute, 9% of users contribute a little, and 1% of users account for almost all the action."

With the internet as part of the future for more civic participation and direct democracy, what do you think are the risks?

i.e. are we at risk of having our attentions and energies directed by a small and inappropriate coterie of people? And if so, how is that different from now?

Maybe it's our place to do it at home and not our place to do it abroad but it's not morally wrong to do it abroad unless it was morally wrong to do it here, and I hold that it was morally right to "impose freedom" here.

has it ever occured to the people of america that the resistance that they encounter in iraq is a version of a contemporary revolutionary war against the brutal tyrant that is occupying their country. this would be very similar to america fighting the british in the 1700's, while saying, "no taxation without representation." the iraqi's are saying basically the same to the american empire. ergo, they ARE fighting for their freedom. the freedom to have an "infidel" free country without which isn't under a puppet government disguised as a democracy.

when a country's army is as technologically advanced as america likes to boast, why is it that they embarrass themselves in iraq against simple goat herders who live in tents and caves?
the french foreign legion is known throughout the world for their superior fire-power and ingenious military strategy. most of those in the legion are recruited fresh from the university, so they at least have skills and brains.
people in the american army, on the other hand, enlist because they want to go to school or they simply can't find another job.
