It seems that Y!A politics has become nothing but a forum to insult the "other side". Are there any people asking serious questions and giving serious, well thought-out answers any more or have we all regressed into grade-shool bullies?

Face it EVERYONE has said that Iraq is a total mess and troops should be taken out. Bush's response is (to be confirmed shortly) is to send in MORE troops in in a ditch attempt to sort things out. One of the factors is that he will not have to worry about re election as he has served his 2nd term limit.

If he was facing a 3rd term defeat, his attitude would be very different to save himself, so should the 2 term limit be changed?

Somalia, where malaria, cholera and tuberculosis are endemic, is threatened by a health disaster after 16 years of continuous fighting that destroyed its care system.
“The country’s health infrastructure has been shattered following the protracted civil strife in the country”, said Dr. Osman Dufle, deputy chairman of the National Committee for Health Emergency Services.
“The extremely limited capacity of the Health Ministry to deliver health care and the increasing need for this care as a result of the widespread poverty and deprivation makes the country fertile soil for the spread of all kinds of diseases and ill-health”, said Dufle, formerly a junior health minister in Somalia’s transitional government.
Cholera, malaria and tuberculosis are rife in the East African country, one of the poorest in the world, with an estimated 300,000 victims of civil war begun in 1991 when the country disintegrated into lawlessness with the ouster of Barre and was divided among warlords.

I have heard all about cutting funding and cutting and running out of Iraq. These are not strategies to win, but to quit. I want specifics. The President's plan in Iraq has been to teach the Iraqi people to defend themselves, not to have complete peace. We are there now to help the Iraqi people to defend themselves. So save the Republicans have no plan crap because I just listed it.

Were needed in Iraq, and now all of a sudden Bush and his party are all for a troop surge? For the past 3 years of this war they have denied that more troops were needed, they laughed at the idea when it was presented to them. Now out of the blue they think its a good idea.
How on earth can we win a war with Flip Flopping leadership in charge?

The Rev. Naim Khoury, the Palestinian Greek-Orthodox pastor of the First Baptist Church of Bethlehem, claimed that the only country in the Middle East where Christians are not persecuted for their religious beliefs is Israel.

He described how his church was repeatedly firebombed by Islamic jihadists.

According to Khoury there is a growing anti-Semitism and sentiments of anti-Christianity in the Middle East and in the Palestinian territories in particular. Regarding Bethlehem, he stated “I think maybe two percent [are Christians]." “I can see around us in the whole area [that] Christians are leaving.”

He also asked why the European Union has refused to defend Christians in Lebanon and the Palestinian Authority.

"Let he who hath understanding reckon the number of the beast for it is a human number, the number is 6 6 6."Revelations 13 ,18
6 angels+6 triangels+6 straight lines=Israeli Star.

Since the emergence of state of Israel in 1948, "alterations" have
been made to history due to suspicious "discoveries":
1- Translation of the above verses have been altered as follows:
-..reckon the number of the beast for it is the "number of a MAN" ( instead of the previously accepted translation: "a human umber")
-(it has been found (by Jewish historians) that the number is not 666, but either 616 or 665!
2- Pope declared the Jews innocent from the blood of Jesus .
3-666 became considred code for NERO!

Could it be that the "Beast" has been finally able to fool everybody in the 20th century, made a flag of its ancient mark and transformed all the historical suspicion towards it into empathy?
Think before you shout.life is not what it seems and the devil is clever.

Hi people.I'm Iranian and I live in Iran. When I chat with people from other countries, I understand that they have totally wrong ideas about Iran.I just wrote this articlae to correct you.
The first thing they accuse our government of, is that they don't let you be free.Actually, Iranians would be some of the most free people in the world, since thousands of millions of strict rules in other countries, don't even excist in Iran. Our goverment tried to not to let western cultures influence ours, by prohibiting videos and sattelites, but in Iran every single house has one, so the government's agreed with having them.Currently, they don't provide high-speed internet, cos they think people may watch sextual and immoral films on the internet, however the highest speed in Iran at present is 128 k, but they're now thinking of providing 500 k speed.I know whatever our government says is for our own good. You know why? Let me give you an example:I suppose kissing in public is not forbiddon where you live, cos it's a part of your culture. But doing the same thing here is offensive. It's not that it's bad or something. You need to act according to your culture.People who don't, and have unreasonable behaviour that is considered immoral behaviour, are considered hooligans. Sattelite channels had a serious influence on people, now the way they wear clothes sounds like western countries, only there's scarves that don't don't seem to be worn because we're Muslems.People wear fashionable scarves to make themselves more attractive and most part of they hair is out. They do whatever they wish to, and some of the things they do, don't fit our culture at all, however it's now slighty normal in Iran, since people seem to have got used to such acts and behavioures. Most of the rules that seem not to be reasonable are abolished almost afer 1-2 years, because people really don't obey them.Whether those rules exist or not Iranians do whatever they wish to! You really need to pay a visit to Iran and you'll be surprised seeing that what you imagined before and how the real Iran is! It's wonderful, believe me.People, the Iran you knew, is related to at least 20 years ago, and now everything's so great.
Some people think music is forbiddon in Iran, but did you know that Iranian pop music has won the nobel prize in France?Iran's full of music nd they're all current pop music. The best you've ever heard, and in case you're curious to hear some, e-mail me and I'll send you some.
Oh, and some people think women don't have any rights in Iran! What would you tell me if I tell you that women are now overtaking Iran? They're behaved very well, most of the times they're the winners in most cases: They get into the best universities, they get the best jobs, they've got rights that have made it difficult for men to marry them, because husbands seem to be under control of women and they have to buy them expensive things and not to treat them very well, otherwise women will have the right to divorce them, and then the husband'll have to pay them a great amount of money which most husbands cannot afford paying that amount of money! (so they can simply sit in the corner of prison! lol)
Some people think, Iran's a desert! People Iran's a modern country with very beautiful nature and lots of historical places to visit. Please take a look at the following links and see if Iran looks like what you think or not!
This is a photo of Tehran: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/7/79/Tehran-2-1600.jpg http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tehran

See how the media is fooling people? None of the things you hear on the media about Iran are true. So, please don't worry about us, cos we're really free.Ok?
