Today the Log Cabin Republicans announced they felt like they were "under attack" from the Republican party. DID YOU REALLY THINK THEY L IKED YOU BEFORE THE FOLEY INCIDENT? DID YOU? DID YOU REALLY? Without questoin they have reached a new low in the pit of stupidity today.

In the annual report for 2006, Social Security Trustees stated that without changes the funds will go bust by 2040. In their conclusions they stated that either a 16% increase in payroll taxes, or a 13% reduction in benefits is required immediately to keep the fund solvent for another 75 years.

We need reform in this program. Privatization may not be the answer, but it was a good place to start the discussion. However, some people refuse any discussion on the matter period.

Do you believe that something must be done? and, what do you think the best solution is?

I just feel that the US acts alot like the we can do no wrong Country.. After answering a post here about weather we helped N Korea build the bomb.. I was given a link from one of the answers stating that we helped them. After reading I got that it was in the form of supplying them with the Candu Reactor. Which is an Electricity Generation plant . After hearing calls like "lets attack Canada now" I have to ask
Who armed Sadame Husain, Who armed Bin Ladden and his Mouja Hadine with stingers? Not to mention all the other backroom deals for arms (IRAN CONTRA) ect ect .. Don't you think,,,, as I replyed to the sender of the link " You should clean the s h i t from your own back yard before complaining about the smell in mine ?

The fact of the matter is, That most of the arms killing people today were developed in the good old USA or the USSR during the cold war.. if we are to point fingers, Should we be calling a spade a spade here ?

I don't know if I want to say, "Oh, the media's not covering it," or if I want to say, "Political wonks like O'Reilly pooh-pooh the agenda" or if I want to say, "People aren't looking," or whether it's some combination of the three. Maybe it's something else I haven't even considered.

The Democratic Party has a platform, and has a plan for making changes they think are necessary to make in the next congressional session. It's not hard to find if you just go to their homepage (but I'll provide a link for the lazy):

http://democrats.org/agenda.html

But my question is this: The above document/plan. Did you know it existed? Had you heard about it? Whether or not you agree or disagree with the Dems' stances, do you think they've done a good enough job of letting people know their position? What more could the Dems do to make it clear that they have a unified plan? Should they get out and work the media more?

BTW: I'm just a concerned (irritated?) dem, not a party operative.

Belize is the only Country south of our borders that the official language is English. They are only 25 years old and are an emerging Country. You would think more support would be offered. I moved there over two years ago and see it as a Country dedicated to literacy and growth in protecting one of the few last remaining natural paridises left. I know that Belize has not signed the Trade agreement with the US because it would obligated them to sell cheap to the US like all the other central American Countries? Personally, I aplaude that. Just makes good business sense. Or is it because it's a place some Trafficers use to bring contraban into mexico or the US? Why punish the people / the Rightful inheriters of Belize for any reasons of that sort? Some facts would be nice.

First, most of my views are liberal, so I am asking all of you whom are fair minded and intelligent to not fallaciously go around labelling me as a conservative or fascist based on the following question. I know most of you are plenty intelligent to know better.

Now to my question. Do you feel that some among you use an adversariel position on Bush too much as a rationalization for the behavior of the Iranian and North Korean governments? Or do you feel their behavior is justifiable, even warranted? If your views are nuanced, please express them. I ask this because it does seem to me that some of the criticisms against Bush are starting to obfuscate the issue of how to deal with Iran and North Korea.

Please give your thoughts. Thanks.
