When you have a world bristling with madmen like the leaders of Iran and North Korea not to mention the terrorist leaders one should be able to grasp the obvious conclusion that diplomacy is a useless and, ultimately, self-defeating tool. The fact is that when a nation tries negotiation its enemy immediately senses weakness. Talk only works AFTER you've worked the enemy over militarily. The reality is that until you demonstrate the use of brute force your enemy won't believe you will. This is a simple and unchanging reality of the world we live in.

Saves a lot of time and mental energy if you just use force to get your way. But, as exhibited by current events, this is not the best route. force may have to be used as a final resort, but I believe it should only be considered after diplomatic means are truly exhausted..

Then, it must be considered if the price paid (in blood and pain) for war is worth it. But countries often go to war for power and profit - and human loss is just considered collateral

Look at it this way. How well do you respond to force do you welcome it or do you have a major attitude I believe everyone and every nation is basically the same you do not win friends by putting a country and its people in a box and jabbing them with sticks for decades. You may get them to cow but you have not made them friends only more determined and crafty enemies.
