Communist?

Everyone talks about the terrors of communism. I don't understand what's so terrible about being a communist, and why they are so universally hated.

Everyone is missing the point, probably because I wasn't clear.

I specifically used the word "hated". Like, if I said I was a communist, why would people hate me? Just because you disagree with me, that's no reason to hate me ... or is it? It's like hating all the Jews. Or are we doing that as well??

Also, people are saying that communist gov'ts are totalitarian ... isn't it as true to say that "many totalitarian gov'ts are communist"???

Communism is a great theory...but I think it is based upon a faulty premise, everyone REALLY cares about his fellow man and would be motivated by that caring and not by his own selfish desires.

The second problem with communism is the actual execution of the theory in practice...It's becomes a totalitarian government. And planned economies just doesn't work as well as market economies.

Communisms idea is good in theory but not all men are about what is best for others. So communism is about one thing really.
It has to do with the dictators. The nations with communism tend to have dictators that force the populace to abide by their wims and rules. In China, you don't get the choice, you get one child and no more. If you become pregnant or have another you are forced to abort the child or they kill the child. In Korea the people live in fear of their dictator and starve while their dicatator has sex parties and eats caviar. He drives expensive cars and drinks while men, women and children die. And in all of these countries (including past Iraq) to go against the dicator resulted in death.
If your neighbor is lazy and you are hard working you are both poor because their is no room to become your potential unless you sell yourself out and join with the dictators doing their bidding.
The injustice and mistreatment is what is so hated about communism.

That is a sad statement for the state of our schools if they are not teaching the reality of governments. Communism is an OPPRESIVE form of government. They viloently crush opposition. They do not allow freedom of religion, freedom of speech, freedom to pursue any sort of happiness. Throughout the history of communism 100's of millions of innocent people have been killed in numerous despicable ways by their own government. Namely the former USSR and Communist China are the main villains, but no less heinous Pol Pot killed up to an estimated 60% of his country's population.

Communism, while it may be seen as an admirable ideoligy, will NEVER work as planned in the real world. Human nature will not allow it. People are inherantly unique and a goverment that forces equality and uniformity goes against everything in the human spirit. Thus, the only communist governments in the world end up being oppresive and BAD.

Communism is just in another word for Dictatorship, Take a Look at N.Korea,or Cuba.The people of N.Korea are Die from Hunger while there Dumbass Dictator pursue Nuclear Weapons. He also passes himself as a GOD!!!!!!
