Agree with you, pure stupidity to be Republican AND gay. I mean, they don't hide the fact that they are conservative and don't approve of homosexuality, so why would you vote for or be a republican candidate if you are gay? You really are thinking more with your wallet, so in a way you deserve what you get.
And to counter Jesi's argument...assuming you are right in saying Democrats don't help the poor (and i think they at least try, unlike the other team), at least they don't openly OPPOSE social programs to help the disadvantaged the way Republicans do. So why would you vote otherwise if you are poor?
Yes, neither party is perfect, but it's time people start voting for issues that affect their quality of life, not for who is going to save you more money on taxes. I'm just amazed how liberal people want to live their lives but then vote conservatively because "those damn democrats give too much money away."
They don't believe in a woman's right to choose, would give guns to any crazed lunatic (it's easier to get a gun permit than a driver's license for @#%(&@'s sake), strongly oppose stem cell research and want to stop creationism from being taught in schools. Last opinion poll I checked, many favor what Republicans are against....yet they are in power because, hey, we don't want lazy people to get a free ride. And the only person to do anything about limiting welfare was a Democrat (Clinton)...what has Bush done to save your tax dollars from those undeserving minorities and....gasp....illegals? Yes, Democrats are misguided often times, but those Republicans are just haters.
Like the great Family Guy episode said "Republicans are people that help those that can help themselves". By the way, I'm sure the Republicans would LOVE to ban controversial programs like Family Guy and South Park...but hey, family values right?

Log Cabin boys deserve what they get. ANd that means they get scapegoated for every wrong thing that takes place in the GOP. Will the Log Cabin boys ever learn that no matter how much money they have, the GOP will ALWAYS hate them? Probably not.

A voter's group such as Log Cabins, I can sort of understand. The Republican party tends to attract those who delude themselves. Perhaps they believed the big tent rhetoric.
But I really don't understand the aides including high level ones who work for gay bashing congressmen, and who even write some of their hateful speeches. And who can figure the gays at the top of RNC who ran Bush's 04 campaign and are major Republican spokesman.

as quickly as lower back, they could blame somebody for the stuff occurring...in the event that they're dividing rank now, that's what you do once you get caught out in a lie...in my opinion, i think of that's notably humorous!

It's the same thinking that the poor and minorities have thinking Democrats really care about them. Its about the voting block they represent, nothing more.
