Many of us have quit traveling, going shopping weekly, and call others rather than visiting frequently. These things are done to stop using so much gas. We need to show that we are not going to spend all of our hard earned money on gas. Those rich who are raising prices are laughing at us because we are paying for gas. What are you doing to conserve on oil?

Why is it (in the UK) that when the government appoints a troubleshooting specialist (typically in the fields of drugs, health, education policy), that the troubleshooter is often referred to as a "Tzar" e.g. "Drugs Tzar"? What is this bizarre connection with imperialist Russian royalty?

It doesnt seem logical that israel should be a major interest of the US. They do not have oil, their affiliation with the US is destabilizing the region, and they dont have a shared religion. Here are some reasons that i have heard:

-Israel is essentially an economic client to the US, it buys a lot of military equipment so the US naturally caters to its economic partner

-Israel has a lot of rich people who influence Washington through lobbyists.

-It is a commitment to manifest something in the bible that says the jews are to have the nation of Israel (details on this one are vague)

-Its a white nation in a region of arabs.

-Israel is a "mercenary state" that will do our bidding in a middle east region that is anti american yet crucial to american economy

I dont know, so i cant believe in one of these, but on moral grounds, it seems logical and decent not to support israel, with israel's record of international law violations and atrocities which are poorly covered by media

After being horriblly abused for yrs. in Kalamazoo,MI,USA I sought help outside the US since no-one would help me here, NO-ONE! This trash infested town...destroyed my life w/lies & wants me to lye in their puke mess for the rest of my life! After you paid them for their goods, they then steal from you and try to harm you, many times over, and after several altercations back and forth....tell me, how would YOU, make that person stop their harrassment?

I am being tourtred in america, I am a 3rd generation white woman who does not want to date blacks, hispanics, lesbians, old wrinkled farts...& all employment is blocked as they try to drive me crazy or to kill myself.No one will do their jobs to stop them all help came from foreign $ but it was stollen by the banks, gov't or they won't let it into the country. Look at the last 2 presidents, and their veto record. Both were in only one area: Abortion. (If Clinton had any other vetos, I don't remember them)
What really divides this country is those who respect life and those who believe personal control is more important than life. It is the backbone from which most other policy positions seem to spring.
When I was growing up, just as I was entering school, Roe v. Wade was decided. I followed political and national events from a very early age, and I can tell you that the chasm over this issue has continued to grow more volatile over the course of my life.
Back in the day, there were few differences between Democrats and Republicans; they could come together on many issues. Now they seem to be polar opposites on everything. And I think you can put it all on that pivotal court decision as beginning the polarization we have today.

Israel is a Zionist state and in fact has nothing what-so-ever to do with the Jewish people.

It is against God's law that Israel is even a country , because the Jewish people have been forbidden by God to EVER have a state of their own .... they are condemned to wander.

Orthodox Jewish leaders over the last 60 years have said that there will never be peace in the middle east until Israel is dis-mantled.

THEY say Israel has NO RIGHT to exsist!

They reserve the right to defend themselves? Either way they are tiny and could not prevail without help if things got dicey. Do you agree or is that absurd? Do they need help or can they take care of this situation by themselves?
