He is well connected and has great political strategists around him, but I doubt that will be enough for history to remember him as clever, or even 'decent.' History will remember him as reckless.

I don't approve of the Bush administration's agenda. However, I suppose "clever" may apply to Pres. Bush. He always seems to get what he wants. Must be clever to do that.

He must be since he gets everything he wants. He's not been impeached for a single thing at all and he got voted in twice. What else could he want?
