it seems like all they say anymore is that EVERYTHING is liberal and bias...
maybe if you think everything is bias and liberal... you've forgotten where the middle was?

it just seems like center is "agrees with me" to them... and odds are... everything shouldn't agree with you... that actually may mean that it is in the center, if it doesn't agree with you

Toddo from M... I think you'll fit right in at the National Review...
thanks for toting the party line and telling me nothing new but propaganda...
I think that there is a center... and I don't think it's laughable... but I also think conservatives want to push everyone that's not a consevative into a "non-conservative" catagory that they label liberal... when in fact, it's quite easy to not be a conservative and yet, not be a liberal...

I don't even think they know where the right is, their ideology has sunken to the levels of some conspiracy belief system, where everyone that does'nt agree with them is on the side of some sort of worldwide conspiracy that is bent on making facts and the media against conservatism.

It is a fact that the media is biased. Look at all the subjective language and conjecture that make up news reports today.
I am a Journalism major, and I cringe at the total lack of objective reporting in today's media, whether that be print, tv, radio, whatever.
Once you've established there is media bias, then you watch and see which side is painted in the best light (or not derided as much), and again, an objective look at what is being said would lead one to conclude that liberal policies, politicians, and all things associated are either treated as "mainstream" or normal. Anything conservative is labeled "controversial" or worse.
And then you've got these news channels full of talking heads and so-called "experts" that spend most of their time ripping George Bush or what they call the "right-wing fundamentalist Christian" influence on the party.
Inevitably, someone steps up and says Fox is biased towards conservatism, and that may be true...but it's a lone voice in a wilderness of liberal viewpoints.
By the way, what's the middle? Liberals and Conservatives apparantly are at the opposite ends of the spectrum on practically everything. So you tell me what parts of Liberalism a Liberal will give up to move closer to the center: Baby-killing? Socialism? Throwing all references to the Judeo-Christian God out of American society? Appeasement? Tree hugging? Animal rights?
Once again, it is the Liberal that wants the OTHER person to make concessions. The idea that there is a common ground between the philosophies of Liberalism and Conservatism is laughable.

To answer your question directly: No they have lost sight of the center.
Ever since Bush has been in office there has been a noticeable shift to the right. I don't know how old you are but back in the day, the word conservative actually meant leaning to the right. Today, conservative is the 'norm' for a republican and neocon is leaning to the right.
So, I guess if you think about it, they are still to the center... just not the center as previously defined because a new definition of a republican center has evolved.
Btw, this is a good thing for the democrats because it has left no place for the moderate republican but to join the moderate democrats.

I think everyone knows where the basic center is.
Liberals prefer the center to be a lot more left of where it is. Fortunately, it is not and seems to be going more and more to the right.

Regardless of where you are on the line, right or left of center, there is always someone more left or more right than you are. Therefore, any viewpoint to the left of yours is going to be considered more liberal just as any to the right of your position is going to be more conservative. It's all relative.

To be honest i don't know if they know what a conservatism means. I'm not talking only about the people that post here because they are followers but the leaders.
