Other - Politics & Government - June 2006

My personal opinion is that religion and politics should not mix - this is because I think religion is a personal choice, and in today's multicultural society no religion should be able to affect the law and government of a country that will be made up of people of many religions.

However, I recently watched a documentary about a new college in the USA that has been set up with the express intention of getting fundamentalist Christians into the White House and into all areas of Government.

What do you think? Should religion ever be allowed to play a part in government?

I have heard about racial cases befor now but never imagined that,it is at a very alarming degree.
Recently I fond myself in an enviroment with 95% white skined people
I became armed with 100% evidence with what I saw the blacks go through and have come to the conclusion that the blacks all over the world are not getting what they deserv.As I ask this question I am in tears.Is there going to be any comfort at all? Iam really worried about this.

what is the way you need to take if you have a disablity and need your ssi how do you get your money who do you talk to what do you have to do to what you need with a what they call a none er disablity like you not dieing by heading for a wheel in the next 1-2yr if you keep up the pace you have not and you payed in sence you were 12 and now 40

I just have to say this. I know that we are helping the people of iraq but what about the people in the US. A lot of people dont see the bad sides of the US whih is consuming more and more of this counrty every day. i mean i believe in helping people but it is like having a father who "claims" to help you somwhat but does soooooooooo much for other people.

If the US was so conserned about its people maybe minority based neighborhods and 3rd and lower 2nd class neighborhoods will have better schooling and more funding. Like DC schools. Minortiy students are have to attend those hoiffic schools every day but the when you go to Howard County they have really good schools. Also Chicago. The minority and poorer areas schools are basically falling apart but the "other" areas are not. And what about poor areas like the Katrina areas. they are still in rubel. They cut funding in that area to pay for some war no one know about. Bush is driving Americans deeper and deeper into dept.

Have you ever sat down and thought about what we are doing in Iraq? Yes I support the American troops 100%. I agree that Sadam should be taken out of power and put in jail. I don't however believe that we should fource our form of government on these people. Do a majority of the Iraquis want democracy or is it the monority? Pushing a form of government is like pushing your religion on them. Do you think it is the right thing to do if they don't want it? Would you like someone to come here and change your religion because they believe in theirs and not yours?

If you disagree with American policy and say something "against America" because you care about it... isn't that the ultimate in patriotism... like a parent questioning the actions of a child... or even chastising a child... we are all stewards in a democracy...

But it seems that many blindly follow whatever the government does ... and that is not like a parent that just lets a child act as they wish, spoiling the child and not doing the child any favors in the end?

Blindly following a leader is the folly of a fool... and is exactly the opposite of what this country is built on...

I mean, should we always just follow what our leaders say regaurless of what it is... is that really being a "good American"?

Where is the missing third party?

Environmentally friendly. Giant tax incentives for making cars more efficient.

Military must be huge, war is a last resort.

Axe missions to Mars and dump the money into alternative fuels.

Give teachers bonuses based on how much their students improve.

Burn the flag if you want, it is the utlimate example of free speech.

Reinstate hard labor camps and make criminals do free public labor.

Let gays get married if they want. Gay monogomy isn't hurting anyone and is hardly a special right.

Assist Mexico's economy to make it a place people want to stay. For those who are here, welcome, you have 2 years to learn English.

Make abortion legal through the first month. Period. If you're having sex, you should be checking if you're pregnant. If you can't afford an abortion in that amount of time, don't have sex.

3 term limits for congress, 2 for senate.

Congressional salaries based on budget cuts!!!!
