I think the USA needs a big attitude adjustment, as they would say. I am sick to the back teeth of hearing how bloody fantastic America is - wake up and look at the problems within your own country before you go wading into wars with other countries that you had a hand in starting in the first place!!

I lived in the USA for a year in Virginia (perhaps not the best place to go) and was shocked and stunned by the everyday racism I encountered, by the religious bigots, by the overwhelming attitude I came accross of 'we are the best, the rest of the world can hang' - there is an excess of misplaced pride which leads to disrespect and hatred of other countries.

There are a lot of good, open minded people in the USA but they tend to be drowned out by the idiots who shout louder.

I think President Bush is a symptom, not the cause - after all, he had to be elected, didn't he? Which means that there was considerable support for him - he was even relected! His relection was the most terrifying thing - people could see what a complete and utter idiot he is and yet he still has support!

The USA needs to work on tolerance and humility, I concurr. Funnily, if they really were so God-fearing this is something they should be good at! But, however, most religious Americans and most others seem to be very involved in the sin of pride.

I am Irish.
I used to love the US.
Now it is being dreadfully run by a tyrant, and I have no wish to visit the place.
I have also lost a degree of respect for the American people, having seen them giving a second term to this murderer.
They knew from the first term exactly what he was like, yet they gave him a second chance, a second opportunity to continue on murdering.
I think that he makes Hitler look like Mary Poppins.
So sorry for decent American people because it is going to take your country a long, long time to recover from the damage done by this evil man.
It was a different world when Hitler was about, and a lot of people were slow to realise what was going on but, in this sophisticated age, the whole world knows what George Bush is like, and knows all about how evil he is.
May God forgive the Americans for giving this man a mandate.
They knew that he was thick as two planks before they elected him, and that he was bound to continue doing stupid things.
No, he is not very bright, never was.
More evil and cunning.

On the whole there is nothing wrong with US or its people.
All the US needs is decent leadership & perhaps a lot more humility in its people, they do tend to think they are the kings of the world & treat others as underlings.
They complain about immigration being a problem but fail to remember that they are all, with the exception of native american "indians", descended from immigrants be they scottish, irish, english, welsh, swedish, dutch or whatever.
A lot more tolerance is required.

I lived in the US for a few years, I have to say that I loved it. The vast majority of people I encountered were warm, friendly and extremely hardworking. I don't like Bush particularly and American foreign policy (but then I don't like the foreign policy of my home nation- UK), but I won't let that colour my view of the nation and the people.

I immigrated to the US in 2004...It wasn't like I thought it would be....I think its a great place to raise families as there are a lot of family-fun places, parks, libraries, etc....there are so many stores that 'the mall' isn't the only place for entertainment....the people here are friendly and they always say HELLO and HOW ARE YOU...people are always smiling at each other, even though they don't know one another......people here are helpful to almost everyone, like if your car broke down, people stop to help you anytime....hmm...but honestly, i prefer my country better...the US is a nice place and all....but i prefer my country :D

I live in the USA and I think that we're a bunch of hipocrites as a nation. We're also horridly LAZY. I think people in the USA lack any real value for their freedoms.
