Because democrats couldnt produce a candidate with the jewels to step up to the issues that America faces. You dont have to be a genious for people to respect you.You have to follow through and lead.I love Bush for that. He could give half a cracker crumb what you or any other armchair politician thinks. And if hes such a menace then you tell me when the last succeful terroist attempt was in America.huh? Im listening(crickets chirping) Thats what I thought. Those soldiers signed up for it.If they are unprepared for battle then they should have stayed home with mommy.
And for you muslim sympathists, get a freakin clue.

Well, first off not everyone voted for him, the states with the most voting power voted him in, not the people.
The system is not as easy as just counting votes, there are may facets that come into play. Electoral votes are very powerful and if you win the biggest states, you will get in, ie: California, Iowa, New Mexico and so on.
Check out the rules for government and the voting function under the federal government.org

If you remember, Bush didn't get the most votes, he just got the bigger states. Fewer people voted for him than the other guy, of course his approval rate is low and people don't like him. A majority of us DID NOT vote for Bush

It is possible to push peoples buttons to make them like you even if you are not a very good person or are even bad. Once you get their vote and are in office, you can then go about your own agenda. In the case of Pres. Bush, his agenda has been to aid the very very wealthy at the expense of everyone else, this is not what he made himself out to be before the elections.

The American people are oblivious to what is really going on. I mean there are no WMD, the VA is totally screwed, Cheney shoots a man, we are being wire tapped right and left, etc. This president by all meaningful standards sucks. Congress tried to impeach Clinton for what? And there is virtually no talk of impeachment now?!

I voted for him but as it turns out, I was the only person who did. At the time people voted, apparently they weren't unhappy with him then.

A better question is:
Why Haven't We Impeached Him?
I mean Clinton was threatened with it for having sex, and Bush has killed more Americans than the terrorists and at least 30,000 unarmed civilians in Iraq, he is building a Berlin Wall across our border, he abandoned Katrina victims, he has made millions from the gas prices (since his investments in Saudi oil have paid off because his war means we aren't getting it from Iraq anymore), he has blamed terrorists and immigrants for his bumblings and unconstitutional policies, and on and on and on. He is Hitler without the camps.

very good question, my friend!
you see, I don't know how many people think about this, but the public barely matters at all in a pole, because its all about the congress! Bush payed the congress to vote for him, and so he won the election...
believe it, because how else could he have won???

He lied about his qualifications. If you were going to hire a CEO would you hire the one with an A average or the guy with the C average who didn't study and partied all the time but got the job because of who his daddy was?
