If the GOVT only taxed you if you made over $40,000 a year or have $40,000 in assets? The people in poverty would keep every nickel they made. Saving wouldn't really be a problem for them anymore; they would be able to save all the money or spend it on their homes and rise out of poverty. And after 3 or 4 years, they would have enough in assets or savings to start being taxed by the GOVT again. BUT, now they would be out of "poverty" and could manage the cost of living in america a little easier now. America should help it's own people living here right? Even if you don't have the almighty dollar, you should be able to live your life the way you chose?

GREELY,CO. Nov.06 During the run-up to the invasion of Iraq, President Bush and his aides sternly dismissed suggestions that the war was all about oil. "Nonsense," Def. Sec'y Donald Rumsfeld declared. "This is not about that," said White House spokesman Ari Fleischer as a reason to stay in Iraq.
Now, more than 3 1/2 years later someone else is asserting that the war IS about oil.
President Bush himself.
"If the United States pulled its troops out prematurely & surrendered the country to insurgents", he warns audiences just before the elections, "it would effectively hand over Iraq's considerable petroleum reserves to terrorists who would use it as a weapon against other countries".

Does this man realize that people pay attention to what he says?
So. Now. I see. Since we do not have a hold on the oil, since we do not CONTROL it, it will be used by terrorists!
Oh my God. Doesn't he realize that others see HIM as a terrorist?

It's always been about the oil. Always.

I was very young when she was in power. She seems to get a mixed reception. When I ask my boss he made her out to be the devil incarnate, but the way my Dad and father-in-law go on about her you would think she was the second coming.

I understand everyone in this nation of our (The US) feels we are still free, however, in light of the war, the economy, and our shrinking identity due to illegal immigration and government control I strongly feel that we are likely to be in a Civil War of our own within the next decade.
I am an expert on foreign policy and domestic, however, my insights stem not from my professional background, but rather, my seeing changes in how the United States treats it's people and bullies the rest of the world. It may not be a very optimistic outlook, but "We the Peope" have become only those with lot's of money making the rest of us do what they want.
In short, America is run by corporations and closet tyrannts. Unless the people of our nation stand up for what the founding fathers intended our nation will be lost forever and we will have nobody to blame but ourselves.
I did not elect the current President/Emperor, but I can assure you that many who did now regret that choice profoundly.
