if the president is impeached and is found not guilty, is he able to be impeached again at a later time?

He can be impeached again, but not for the same crimes/reasons unless new evidence is presented. (5th amendment in the constitution ~ double jeopardy law)

I don't that he should be impeached the first time... no impeachable offenses have been committed. But some politicians are so filled with self loathing and hate for Bush that along with their pandering to the lunatic part of their base may cause the time wasting effort to be made.

I think you will find double jeopardy kicks in with this. He could not be impeached for the same crime. He could however be impeached if he was suspected of committing another, and different crime.

I don't think so, but since the President isn't going to be impeached, there's really no reason to worry.

I think jeopardy is attached, which means he cannot be tried again *for that crime*. He can be impeached for other possible crimes.

If he is impeachable, then he should be. If he is not impeachable then he shouldn't. Unfortunatly, politics has proved this statement untrue.
