NO WAY - Public Transport in the U K is nothing short of a Bloody Joke -- Filthy Trains - Buses and Coaches , Late - Late - Late Cancellations - Break Downs - "Staff Shortages" Ridiculous - on going -Price Increases - Total Lack of "Value for Money" the whole thing is a Disgusting Reflection on the Bungling Prats that have been messing about with Public Transport in the U K for the last 25 +++ Years , Steadily getting Worse each Year

The public transport requires more attention. The oil resources are not lasting for ever, pollution is on the rise. The roads are becoming congested. The mass public transport has to be redesigned.Peak hours have to be controlled by staggering of working hours of factories, schools ,offices, shopping complexes etc.For short distances people should walk or use cycle or non polluting vehicles.Otherwise we will be at the mercy of a few oil producing muslim countries in future.

Public transport cannot cope with demand now, let alone if we all used it instead of our cars.
In London, in spite of the congestion charge (£8 per day) 51% of Londoner's travel to and from work daily by car.
Intercity trains are packed in like sardines. Don't even think of going to the loo - there's people in there sleeping.

Not until we get rid of the nine-to-five culture and maybe stagger school hours. On the other hand if everyone used a car for travelling to and from work could the roads cope?

Obviously not...... it can't even cope with the public that use it now. Forget the governments encouragement, they don't even use it themselves.

Personally i dont think so! Its bad enough as it is now.. you have to wait forever for the buses or trains to turn up (if the one thats ment to be there at that time does!), plus there usually really busy during rush hour anyway so you have to end up standing!!
