I am writiing a paper about universal healthcare. I know that Vermont and Massechusetts have made it possible in their states, but that the system might not work so well for a dense population like California. What do you think? Is it a good idea to have the government provide healthcare regardless of employment status? Funding would come from an income tax raise.

A great deal of the wealthy in our country have what I call the "metallika complex". They've gotten to a point where they have so many assetts that their money could sit in a bank and accrue more than enough in interest for them to get any thing that they could ever want, and at the same time they lobby people in the government to pass laws so they can bilk the working class out of their hard earned money and make it harder for other people to succeed.

How am I a liberal for not wanting a President with a drunk driving arrest and a Vice President who has a history of drinking alcohol and shooting lawyers in the face with a shotgun?

It's all propaganda with them, evertime Bush, Rumsfeld, and other White House staff comes on it's always about "terrorism". They say that 'we need to protect our people'. But are they really "protecting" us by going and invading another country and killing their civilians? Also, from the standpoint of Iraqi's, aren't they being invaded? We are told that the U.S. is defending Iraq? But aren't they "attacking" Iraq?

i went to New Orleans last friday. You could just smell sadness everywhere. Everybodys house was torn and they were lucky if they even had a piece of theyre roof left. It was sooo sad i felt like crying. Those people now live in little trailers with kind of a kitchen, and 1 very small room. thats it! and the roof was missing and there was no windows!!!!!!! the goverment is responsble for all of this!!!!!!!! we should not treat our fellow citizens like this! what do you have to say about ourgoverment?
