i went to New Orleans last friday. You could just smell sadness everywhere. Everybodys house was torn and they were lucky if they even had a piece of theyre roof left. It was sooo sad i felt like crying. Those people now live in little trailers with kind of a kitchen, and 1 very small room. thats it! and the roof was missing and there was no windows!!!!!!! the goverment is responsble for all of this!!!!!!!! we should not treat our fellow citizens like this! what do you have to say about ourgoverment?

There are billions and billions of dollars coming into New Orleans. Unfortunately, there's a whole lot of red tape and hoops to jump through before regular people can get this money to fix their homes. Otherwise, there might be lots of money wasted (like the ones that spent their $2000 on divorce lawyers or fake boobs or football tickets).

Speaking of football, FEMA did not pay to fix the Superdome. The money came from all over, including the NFL itself. The Superdome isn't just for the Saints. It's also the home of the New Orleans Bowl and the Sugar Bowl, two major events that bring in millions of dollars of tourist revenue along with the Essence Fest and many conventions. By repairing the Superdome, the tourist business can continue in New Orleans. If there were a huge hurricane that destroyed much of Orlando, don't you think that Disneyworld would be a top priority to repair? Where do New Orleans and Orlando get their revenue? Primarily from tourism.

New Orleans needs to be fixed, but since 80% of the city was under water, where do all the repairmen live? The progress is slow, but I believe it'll eventually snowball and get to a fast pace. I just hope it's sooner rather than later.

now i can't say i'm happy with our goverment but we can blame them for natural happingins!
Why can't the community pull together and help each other out!
I'm sick of every one blaming our goverment! if it bugs you that bad you do something about it!
It is sad and i think the goverment could of gave some funding wait they did! they can't do everything for everyone! no one can do that! they gave us freedom to do what we can and when that chance to do what we can askes for survial we all start pointing fingures at them! I mean when will we as a person/community/ a hole own up for our own actions!
by the sounds of this you would think i'm pro goverment but i'm not i feel that we are all responsible for ourselfs and what happends to use! it's how we handle it not how our goverment handles this!
with people still struggleing it only shows that we need a goverment and here i thougth we were smart enought to do with out!
maybe i'm more for the goverment then i thougth well a type of goverment just not the way it's be ran lately!
I mean if i had a storm and it tore my house down it would be said but i would get off my but and do everything i could to get it fixed! and i can't blame the goverment for not searching for me to help me!
the squeaky wheel gets the grease!
Mad luv

I think our government dropped the ball and now we need to step up and really pitch in where needed. However, I also feel the people who are rebuilding in New Orleans are foolish homeowners.... You just don't build a city below sea level, along the coast, on a river delta and then expect it to stay dry forever.

The FEMA trailers are deplorable. Short of sending everyone out of the city and then rebuilding and then welcoming everyone back I don't have any suggestions- There are people with more get up and go then me and I'm interested to see what they think should be done.

I think you don't have to worry about your government there. Your country is very progressive and I am the one who must worry and will say bad on my government. To tell you the truth, I'm very pride of being a Filipino but very, very ashamed of our government here in the Philippines. We're lucky enough if there is .001 percent from all of our politician who aimed for bright future to our people. Most of all or all of our politician were vey very corrupt, from time to time, my country Philippines is always crying. From our President down to the lowest position, these people run for money, they always go to church as if they were good but these Devils has no salvation.
