This may not be of interest to many, but it's a serious question. Time and again we hear small countries where the people feel part of decisions are the happiest - e.g. Denmark, Ireland and more. Would taking responsibility for its own governance improve the traditionally dour Scottish outlook? Or is our demeanour ingrained by the weather and a sense of failure?
... and would the remainder of the UK be happier without us?

Hey,
I was wondering if anyone could answer my question. Let's say you had your Social Insurance Number stolen, when you ask the government to issue you a new one, do they give you the same number or a new number?
Thanks

My daughter was denied social security survicors benefits because her father did not openly hold my daughter out and receive her into his home. Another social security law that is hurting her case is that a judgment of Paternity must have been submitted before the alleged father dies. I thought laws were made to protect and help children not discriminate against them because they are "illegetimate"! It is not my daughters fault that her father did not step up to the plate and take responsibility for her; and because of this my child must suffer while his other kids receive benefits. I have worked hard getting a DNA test after he passed as well as obtaining a judgment of paternity and amending her birth certificate to add his name and change hers to have yet another door slammed in my face. There are too many man who get away with not taking care of their kids and social security laws protect them. If there is proof that a man fathered a child he should be required to care for it!

I have about ten years before I'm able to run for President of the USA. If elected, I will STRICTLY enforce worker's rights, especially for the working class poor, even distribution of wealth, legalize marijuanna and prostitution (within the boundries of good health), give at least half of the country back to the original natives (indians) and the rest back to England. So, do I have your vote?

I had asked a question of those who are Islamic, and fear that I might have stepped on toes in the government in doing so. I am a truth seeker, and want all sides of a situation, not just one. But, in this case I fear I might have asked a question that certain political parties do not want asked or answered. Any advice? Even if you have no advice, remember me should I disappear, and continue to seek truth in all things. I do not have a political agenda, nor do I advocate any actions, pro or con, but was just curious as to the positions on all sides. I seek to understand things, nothing else.
