Do you think the earth will eventually have only one government?

If so, how long do you think it will take. Also, how could it happen? By war or through some other possibilities?

No. I think the earth will be devoid of humans altogether.

Then we'll be like the dinosaurs . . . fossils for some other life form to wonder how we all got taken out at once . . .

Its against human nature for there not to be conflict. There always has to be an "us" and "them." Far off in the future people may colonize other planets like Mars, and these planets will eventually fight for independence because that's what colonies do. Further down the road these other planets may make war on earth. That's when you'll have a united earth. Oh there may be goverments that will call themselves the "One united earth government" or something like that, but there will always be parts of the world where they have no power, until the interplanetary war thing. I'd say 400 years from now.

Not unless our behavior changes. Like George Orwell said in 1984, the government can only stay together if it's people are united by fear of a common enemy. If there is no common enemy, people find some issue or group of people within their society to disagree with (a la the American Civil War), and the nation fissions. As Eric M said, there always has to be an "us" and a "them". In fact, how could you define "us" if there weren't a "them"? At best, the world could have only two (mutually hostile) governments. Of course, if we can find a way to suppress our tendency to beat the stuffing out of people who are different, then yes, it would be possible, but not a moment before that time.

Yes, but they won't make peace,

They will create perpetuals wars to eat any surplus generated by both Nations, wothout raising the levels of life of their citizens. Even lower it, and use those forged war to make us swallow anything like the Patriot Act......the Martial Law...


Unfortunately, we are very close to the edge....we already are controled by one secret, world government, the Illuminatis....

And they are already forging the "right major crisis" they so need to make the Nations accept their New World Order.....

If there is a world governemt, it will be just like "1984" of Eric blair (George Orwell)or Hitler reign, or both....we are really close...

it is in the process as we breath. Europe has become the EU and as the US becomes more paranoid they will reach ever further through out the world using it's military as an excuse to conquer terrorism. it will take probably 50-100 years(most likely longer) for there to be a one world govt. I think it will first be a two or three 'unions' and who ever has the largest army will win, meaning India or china.

The Illuminati, who run this world, are pushing toward a one world government. First it will be necessary for them to reduce the world population to a manageable level. So they are fueling world war 3 in an effort to do this.

If that's gonna happen I'll pray that FIFA will be the worldwide central government. It brings together more nations than the United Nations and its rules are applied worldwide without dispute. Even the US submit to FIFA, can you imagine?
