Elections - November 2007

[Selected]: All categories Politics & Government Elections

I saw on the news that election time is here! I am not a legal resident so I couldnt vote? :0(
Anyways, I know who I like and I'd like to know exactly when
the new president will be in office? I'm tired of Bush's crap
and am ready for a New president... I feel like its time for change. The New president, I think, will help our environment,
immigration issues, and Healthcare. I know WHO WONT WIN... lol.

Dont vote for Hillary just because most of the media backs her. Hillary is so two faced that if you do vote for her, you can thank yourself for bringing our country down with her. You Bush haters need to wake up. Dont just go Democrat because of Bush. Look at the candidates and pick the best one, republican or democrat. Dont be stupid.

She is favored to win the presidency, and she goes into tangents and does not have a clear opinion about anything.

As long as you are just encouraging them to keep their spirits up, and not plotting, everything will be okay ;)

In the House of Representatives, Congress, Senate, is there a rule that states there must be an equal number of democrats and republicans. And if a democrat wins the presidency does he have to pick a republican vice president.

Does anyone know if it is ok to run for more than one officer position i.e. like running for President and Vice President at the same time. I would like to be an officer in a small organization. I would like to put my name down for President and Vice President. I don't know if I would be voted in as President, but would like the opportunity to run for Vice President if that doesn't happen. I don't know if I explained this in enough detail or not. Thanks for anyone's help.

the dollar continues its decline at a faster pace - china is now looking to diversify by buying other bonds /currency- inflation is on its way globally according to the world bank- oil prices are at record levels and are expected to continue - the subprime fallout is still seeing losses even with the fed lowering rates and with inflation coming they cant hold on for long -and the next fallout for americans could be credit cards -are all the things ron paul has been predicting happening right before our eyes and will it be too late to fix if he gets in office?

I'm doing this worksheet for my AP U.S. History class and it's called a Presidential Profile.
In one section it says:

Term: 1st Administration:
2nd Administration:

What does this mean? I'm not sure, and I don't want to do this wrong (it also doesn't help that we have to write in pen).
Please help? Thank you!

Do I call the other candidate who won? Or, is it like in tennis where the winner jumps the net to extend a hand to the loser? Any advice?

a number of years ago, when I worked a poll as clerk, there was a gentleman who brought all the residents of his group home to vote. The home was for the mentally and physically challenged and he had completed the forms that gave him the right to 'assist' them in voting. Now I understand that cerebral palsy affects the body and not the mind, so people with this are more than competent to vote. But my question is this, for the ones who have limited mental capacity and may not even understand the process, should they be allowed to vote? Does his 'assisting them' to vote give him more than his 'one man one vote' status? Would like opinions on this.

This was the top headline of the newspaper for today. So does this news come as surprise for you or you were expecting this? I was expecting this, because Bush and iraq war are very unpopular. Also does this mean that VA. is becoming blue because in last 2 to 3 elections, GOP lost US senate and governorship seats? And does this also mean that next year Hillary would win VA?
