Good morning class of 2009, I'm ------------ and I want to be your Class President. I am so excited to be speaking to all of you this morning and I'm even more excited to be missing first period. Let's give them a round of applause (cut off- "ok, that's enough") Class president is a very important job and should be filled by the best candidate possible. I feel that I am that candidate for numerous reasons. Some of my peers often describe me as respectful, honest, intelligent, reliable, gracious, and passionate. With the use all of these imperative traits, I will be able to do what is in the best interest of all of us and continue the momentum that has already been created in raising funds for our senior prom, an event that is sure to be a highlight of our life experiences. My dedication to service as well as my good interpersonal and organizational skills will be tools essential to my success as a student leader. I've assisted a handful of major charities this past year and have helped to raise money for great causes all over the world. A certain program that I am determined to bring to Kennedy is called Invisible Children. With our help, we can build lives for African children on whom the world has turned its back. A program through the organization that we can get involved in is called Schools for Schools where we pick a school to raise money for Uganda and we pay for the supplies they need to learn. In terms of accomplishments, I feel that more can be done. I see my primary responsibilities as running organized and effective meetings, overseeing all class officers and providing them with tools and guidance to help them in their work, and working with all members of the Kennedy High School community. This past year, our class has participated in various charitable organizations and has raised small amounts of money through bakes sales and candy sales. This may be news to some of you and that's a problem because we should all be doing our part. We need to be doing more for our local community as well as our global community and I will make it happen. Additionally, our class hasn't been represented well at school functions the past two years and I'm prepared to change that. I'm not sure what design we'll have on our class night shirts next year but I promise that if it's up to me, it'll be amazing and well worth the purchase. The lack of results from the current administration has been one of the major factors in my decision to run for President. I am set to do all that is in my power to make our class the best it has ever been. Winning the trust of each and every one of you means more than anything. Together as a class, we can change the world, but first we need a change in leadership. If you like to settle for less than greatness, vote for one of the others behind me; but if you're ready to see the class of 2009 get things done, I'm your man. My name is ------------- and I want to be your Class President.
