I'm closest to the Green party, because of global climate change and the opportunity to put taxes where they belong.
The Democrats are far too conservative. The republicans are far too radical in their support of the very, very wealthy. and the Independents are not all that independent.
I'm not quite sure I understand these rationales:
Republican because you are a Christian!!
The Republican administration has killed 700,000 people in the Middle East and seriously injured 1.2 million.
Republican because you believe in a smaller government!!
Our government has larger spending and creating more deficient than ever. Are you listening to the rhetoric rather than looking at the money we are spending?
Democrats hate America!!!
You must read "Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them" by Al Fraken. He talks about this specific lie and who perpetuated it in the Media. Can anyone be this naive and gullible? The most patriotic American I know is Mr. Franken, because he is calling out many of the lies of the politicians. Whoever said this: Try not to think alone.
DEMOCRATS are CONSERVATIVE because the voted for the neocon program to support the invasion and occupation of the Middle East. They are CONSERVATIVE because they voted for neocon program to reduce American civil rights. They are CONSERVATIVE because they cater to special money interests instead of the needs of the average American.
Most of the candidates (except for two) have taken hedge fund money.

Independent (right leaning, for the reasons stated by
the first two ladies that answered before me)
I vote for those that I believe would do the best job
for America, no one picks just one type of flower
for their gardens, they pick the ones that appeal to them.
There are a few (not many) but a few democrats that are
conservative in their views.
Radical: The average Democrat is liberal, not conservative
maybe you need some EDUMACATION (education) for
those that think I mis-spelled the word)

oh my god... the average american is so funny sometimes. Riding the world to hell with nothing more than total faith, blowing flags and a smile... i hope the reps win again, so the USA finally blow up this f*ing world to give intelligent life a chance on this planet.
I understand anyone who doesn't vote neither reps nor democrats, but you all should consider that any vote for the small parties is a vote for the winning party. If the greens in florida or Ohio would have voted for Al Gore instead of Nader in the 2000s election bush would've never been president.
Your whole voting system is far away from what it should be in a democracy.

Socially liberal economic conservative here. call me self sufficient, with Libertarian leanings. To me, i admire a good number of McCain's economic regulations. He ought to shrink spending in Washington it relatively is a needed reform, yet whether he's against professional-decision (do no longer choose him appointing splendid court docket judges) and professional pointless conflict...So he pushes me into Obama's corner. So Obama it relatively is going to be.
