just wondering...I do, can anyone really say our foreign policy had nothing to do with it, it's not a justification for it, just saying that it definitely could be considered a cause, regardless if it's just(which obviously it isn't)?

Do you think that George W. Bush would ever have made it to the Presidency, or even to Gov of Texas, if he weren't his father's son? Personally, I don't think so.

If she weren't married to Bill Clinton, would we have ever even HEARD of Hillary?

Do either of these people have what it takes to rise to power based only on their own personal abilities?

And, if not, do we want to follow eight years of one President who rode to the position on someone's coattails with someone else who suffers from the same problem?

What one issue would like to see the next administration deal with? How would you like it to be handled?
Examples, (in no particular order):
Gay rights
Abortion
Terrorism
War
Taxes
Welfare
Immigration
International Trade
Gun bans (2nd amendment issues)
Term limits
Crime
Drugs
Social services (non-welfare)
Medical care
Military
Weapons
United Nations
Education

Of course, there are hundreds more topics.
Pick one or make your own and tell the country and politicians (I am listening) what your fears and/or concerns are.

Oberman had some strong words for essentially what amounted to a terrorist threat by Giuliani (a man with no foreign policy experience who wants to be president, and who removed evidence from the crime scene of the WTC building collapses, not to mention had his "Emergency Control Center" in WTC7 destroyed on 911.

"...Giuliani selected the 23rd floor of 7 World Trade Center as the location of the Office of Emergency Management's new command center, having "insisted" that the facility reside "within walking distance of City Hall." In settling on the downtown location, Giuliani "overruled" warnings from a previous police commissioner, Howard Safir, and NYPD chief operating officer Lou Anemone not to put the command center at 7 WTC and rejected "an already secure, technologically advanced city facility across the Brooklyn Bridge..."

Seriously do you even know who your congressman is?
When you do vote, do you actually research and look into the person or party your voting for? I wish I could vote but I'm currently under 18 so I can't. But once I turn of legal age I'll be observing peoples views and voting at every election.

I know there must be a good number of ppl out there who honestly have no idea what the hell is going on. They just sit there on their lazy butts, bi*ch and complain about things that are happening they disagree with yet they don't crap about it.

I'm not saying everyone is like this, but I'm sure some ppl are.

So do you vote?

Is it a party of the rich, by the rich, and for the rich? Or does the party actually care about working families and their needs, concerns, and struggles?

People continue to vote Democrat or Republican, even tho, neither of these 2 parties represent their political views. Why with soo much discontent with the 2 party system, has there been no push for a realistic 3rd party canidate that would force the other 2, to deal with the other, and actually represent the people, instead of their pocket books?

2007-05-16 11:42:24 · 6 answers · asked by Anonymous

Ok, so each party apparently has three top-tier candidates at this point, and I have problems with all six of them.

Clinton: Too left and scary for me
Obama: A one term senator? C'mon... how can he be commander-in-chief?
Edwards: Somehow, I don't see this guys having the testicles to go after terrorists

McCain: Open mouth, insert foot... and I can't get over the what he did to his invalid wife and family.
Guiliani: Also lacks moral fiber, and only has mayoral-level experience... how can he be commander-in-chief?
Romney: A one term-governor? C'mon. Sure he has the business acumen, but how can he be commander-in-chief?

So, who do you like? and why should I vote for him/her? Is there somebody else you'd rather see announce a bid soon?

If the Libertarian's were to make a land slide victory in gaining the U.S. federal senate/house majority & also took the presidency next election, would their fanatical zeal towards shrinking government/eliminating taxes where possable be detrimental or advantageous for American's in general? I've heard both sides of the tale before...one beinging as societies evolve individual freedoms need to be curtailed to maintain both "communal" progressivness & order...the other as: societies need more individual freedoms as they evolve in order to give stimulus to both society & individuals in moving the society progressivly to new levels of enlightenment/acheivments. What's your take on this? Do you favor less individual freedoms for you for the sake of progessive order in regards to the society, or more individual freedoms for you as a stimulus towards your contribution to the society in general?
