I was hoping that the dems would take the high road and begin to unite our population which is so totally divided. Sadly, the dems, especially Pelosi, have proven vindictive and aggressive. I just hope that whatever party finds power next will work to unite-there is middle ground and it would be nice if our govt spent a little time there-with the rest of us.

Ultimately, it's really not about President G.W. Bush at all.

Politics is a tough business. There is no reason to expect conservatives to allow, accept, or support a liberal platform now that Democrats have a tiny majority and want everything their way, any more than the liberals tried to work with the conservatives when the shoe was on the other foot. Offer sensible legislation that works for everyone instead of the typical Democrat "Robin Hood" play and conservatives will willingly support it.

Depends. Will the Dems ever again nominate anybody who isn't corrupt, inept or socialist? Clinton, Gore and Kerry are not what I'd call "A-list" candidates. Neither are Hillary, Obama or Edwards. They're even worse.

It also depends on their actions.

But we won't be going around calling them stupid and evil and fascist and chimp and puppet like you people do to Bush. You will be exposed to what informed and intelligent dissent is all about - something we've not seen in 6 1/2 years.

the dems run the house and congress and they STILL can't stop Bush so it wouldn't make a difference. we're screwed no matter who gets in. this is why im an independant voter. had the dems had some background and stood up for their belief to end the war they WOULD have passed their resolution.

Well, a democratic president is going to feel the conservative wrath of backlash for the years of mostly unwarranted attacks on Bush. If they do a great job however, hopefully we'll look past it. It's sad though that it will take one of your own people to ever make you stop acting like children.

No, Rep's and Dem's hold fundamentally different points of view. Ying doesn't support Yang.

Absolutely, as long as it isn't Hillary.

Most will. Most Republicans are Americans 1st, Republicans 2nd. Most Democrats are Democrats 1st & Americans 2nd (if that).

Look, it's not a matter of party choice. That man has destroyed any respect anyone has ever had for the office of the presidency of the u.s. I don't know you but you would most likely do a better job.

No, I expect a repeat of the Clinton years, with Republicans harping on everything the new Democratic pres does wrong, and trying to impeach him for no reason if they manage a majority in Congress.
