Although I could take each of these topics and explain in detail what I would love to be done, I think I have an overarching philosophy to all of the issues. Put the decisions of society in the hands of the people best able to make decisions about society, the people. This used to be referred to as "rugged individualism". People should have the ability to make their own destinies and suffer the consequences for their actions. If people fail, let them fail. If people succeed, let them reap the benefits. Personal responsibility for one's actions should be key in government today, but time and time again the government usurps more power and removes more choices from the people.

I think the most important issue of today is Gun Rights. Without the ability to protect our rights, what else matters? Word are only words, they do not do anything unless we make them. Liberals and other anti-gun groups would have you believe that they are dangerous and tools for evil, but they are not. The gun is freedom. This might sound a little cliché, but let me explain. Before the gun, the people were almost slaves to the rich and the powerful. They lived in feudal Europe as slaves, and then the crossbow came along and gave power to the laborers. A crossbow gave the peasants the ability to kill knights with little or almost no training. No surprise the church outlawed the weapon as a "tool of the devil". The same occurred when guns came along, it took a day to teach someone how to load and shoot a gun and he could kill the rich and powerful on horseback easily. Before guns, Archers were the only people that could take down nobles in armor and horseback (and with only an amazing shot). The archers trained since they were 7 years old to do this and were almost a noble class unto themselves because of this power. Guns gave the people the ability to make their own lives, protect their own families, and resist oppression. Words on paper mean nothing if you cannot enforce them. The 1st amendment means nothing unless you have the ability to enforce it. This is why the founders put the 2nd amendment in the SECOND PLACE. THEY THOUGHT THIS RIGHT WAS PARAMOUNT! Guns keep the power in the hands of the people and not in the hands of the government. If you look across history, all horrible oppressive regimes and genocides were preceded by a GUN BAN (Hitler, Stalin, and countless others). Think about gun control.

What do the politicians say gun control is meant to do? They say it is supposed to decrease crime, but it is a proven fact that when guns are removed, crime rates sky rocket. Gun control only ensures keeping guns out of the hands of the people that we want to have them, law abiding citizens. Do you think a criminal not go on a mass shooting spree because he has to break a gun control law to do so? If you think that a ban/control on guns or some guns would decrease the severity of shootings, you are wrong. Do you think that a ban on guns will erase them from society? Look at the "ban" on drugs in the "war on drugs". They are everywhere. A gun ban/gun control does not keep guns out of the hands of criminals, it only ensures that they will be armed and the citizens will be left defenseless from criminals and/or an oppressive government. The government will not and cannot protect us from criminals, police seem to investigate crimes, not keep them from happening. They will investigate your family's deaths because they will never be able to prevent it from happening. Are we to have a policeman in ever room in the nation? Put the ability to protect oneself in the hands of the person that is best able to make decisions about one's wellbeing/safety, the individual. If it is known that banning guns does not decrease crime, why would they try to ban guns? You decide.

of course. the reality that Republicans are walking neck-and-neck for Ted Kennedy's Senate seat would desire to be a awaken call to the Democrats. in the event that they are in possibility of dropping even in Massachusetts, then that's obvious that the Democrats will would desire to assume an undesirable 365 days in distinctive states that are no longer as perplexing-left as Massachusetts. The Democratic social accumulating has been serving the schedule of the ruling classification instead than the pastimes of the effective form. The Democrats are the occasion of the federal government sector. The Republicans are in total disarray and little larger than Democrats, besides the shown fact that there is on the least a average wish that they'd characterize the effective classification (persons that artwork interior the internal maximum sector). If the Republican occasion became into as quickly as a in a position, credible, political social accumulating, they may well be forward by way of 40% particularly than 5-10%. The Republicans nonetheless oppose an the US First distant places coverage and nonetheless prefer massive government. they are no longer a actual alternative to the Democrats and can be no longer liable to opposite any of the socialist coverage rules of the wonderful few some years. nonetheless, the Democrats are so risky that the Republicans would certainly win.

Personally, I would like to see a plan for the end of the Iraq War - what do we still need to accomplish and when do we plan on doing this. I think that the current administration doesn't know how to finish what they started. I'd also like to see a common sense approach to taxes - make them easier to understand.

There's too many to list...
I don't want the government to have too much control over my personal life and telling me what I can and can't watch on tv, which adults I can and can't marry, what I can and can't do with my body. I don't want the drug companies to get away with robbing everyone into debt for their needs. I don't want pollution to get out of control since it's bad enough and we're screwing ourselves in the long run. I don't want to be broke so everyone else can get a handout since it's their job's job to pay their salary, not mine.

Education. The gap between the rich and the poor just gets larger and larger because here in the US we have this growing population of uneducated people who are unable to get good jobs.

weapons control as a whole, I think if our government spent less time searching what library books people were taking out, and more time finding these weapons on the streets, we'd be in a lot safer position
