Seriously do you even know who your congressman is?
When you do vote, do you actually research and look into the person or party your voting for? I wish I could vote but I'm currently under 18 so I can't. But once I turn of legal age I'll be observing peoples views and voting at every election.

I know there must be a good number of ppl out there who honestly have no idea what the hell is going on. They just sit there on their lazy butts, bi*ch and complain about things that are happening they disagree with yet they don't crap about it.

I'm not saying everyone is like this, but I'm sure some ppl are.

So do you vote?

You can tell allot of these people have never voted. More vote for American Idol than for President down to local politicians and then complain for the next four years.Great Question.

With such a cynical view, would you believe me if I say yes? The truth is not always. I only vote if I believe in the candidate. I always hear it's my responsibility to vote, But it's never the government's responsibility to give be someone I can feel good about voting for. I've voted in the last presadental election, but I didn't vote for a president. I voted for my other representives. At least I left the voting booth without feeling like I needed a shower.

Absolutely!!! I have never missed an election in the 20 years I have been able to vote. I even walked over a mile with my 3 three kids to vote on one proposition.

No, at least I don't vote any more. I used to. But with the Supreme Court telling us all that they won't even allow the election officials to count every vote, I figure "why bother?"

Are you looking forward to voting? Are you looking forward to something like "Bush v. Gore" happening? If you voted for a candidate and then found out that the Supreme Court won't allow you to find out, for sure, whether or not your candidate had won, how would that make you feel?

Yes, I vote. And I research the views of the candidates.

I too, feel frustrated about the sad state of voter turnout.

Go to other countries, 70-90% of the population vote. Here? What is it? 30% if we are lucky?

i do vote.
but the candidates only give vanilla answers to questions and there is absolutly no guarantee they will stick to what they say before the election.
they all want to get reelcted so as to feed at the govenment trough so they get more money when they are out.
we all have basic ideas and preferences of how we want to be governed
since there are only two parties from which to choose, for all practical purposes,we choose the philosophy of the party which we agree with most.
sometimes we have to pick the one we have the "best feeling" about and hope for the best.
it's all a crap shoot.

I vote, my husband votes, my 3 children votes, my 2 son in laws vote, & my daughter in law votes, my brothers vote, my sister votes, my father votes & my mother voted until her death. We vote at every election & consider it a privilege to do so.

I research every election & my family calls me for a condesensed verson on any elections they are not sure of usually a school board or county commissioner. My son in law called at polls when he did not know the bond issue & said "How are we voting/" - it was funny he is so cute.

So yes, I always vote - 33 years of voting never missed a single one - flu, pregnant & everything. My vote counts to me.

Yes I voted for the democrats because they said that they would bring the troops home and my friend's boyfriend is over there in Iraq. Not only is he not home yet but more soldiers are being sent over there. I listened to the positions but there weren't true. They didn't tell us that they wouldn't really be able to bring the troops home because of the veto. I feel like I have been conned.
