In India, the easiest thing to become is a Leader (if u have gun and money). Really no qualification needed whether you are matric pass of thumb person. U become the leader like M.L.A. or M.P. and u order IAS, IPS etc who are far superior to you. I want to ask the President, Prime Minister and all Indian "Is it Right ?".

...or someone like Ross Perot? Perhaps an independent?

Is anyone else sick of these life-long politicians and all of the Republican-Democrat brou-haha?

It sure would be refreshing to try something new. But are we ready in these times of turmoil and uncertainty?

Not that I'm the biggest Hillary fan and not that I don't like her either.....but these two individuals represent and appeal to 2 of the biggest pools of non-voters in the U.S.
African Americans and Single Females are the 2 biggest pools of non-voters. If the last election was 51%-49% in the Republicans favor, Will the Republicans stand a chance running against these two in 08 with the potential of having these two pool of voters draining there votes into there ticket?

We in the US will have a presidential election in less than two years from now, and a lot of us are worried that we will not be able to find anyone dumber than our current president to vote for. We the American people have been trying hard to find the most unqualified candidates for public office for many years now, but we are worried that will will not be able to top (or should i say bottom?) the present President. Any ideas or insight would be greatly appreciated.

When voters go to the polls, they generally don't have a good grasp on the actual intelligence level of the candidate. I'm not talking pass/fail things. Just a test that shows how knowledgeable a candidate is in various categories such as the global community, economics, law, etc.

This information doesn't necessarily come out in campaigns, nor debates.

Would you, as a voter, think that information would be useful to take to the polls with you?

An overwhelming majority of you vote Democrat, claiming that this party "helps" black people. I would like to know specifically how? I asked this similar question on a previous thread and did not get a good answer. Some of the answers included, "Democrats favor welfare, affirmative action, raising the minimum wage..." Do you as black citizens feel stereotyped by these statements? Like they think you can't get jobs so you need a program to "give" you a job (affirmative action)? Or they think that because you are black you are on welfare? Or if you have a job you are only making minuimum wage?

I find all of this incredibly insulting to the black population and wonder why more of you aren't speaking out against and voting against some of the elected officials who are promising you all of this stuff to get your votes?

I also want to ask, what do rich, white, elitist politicians like Hillary Clinton, Barbara Boxer, Nancy Pelosi, John Kerry, Howard Dean and Al Gore have to offer you?

Critics won't halt Iraq surge, Bush says By BEN FELLER, Associated Press Writer
WASHINGTON - President Bush, facing opposition from both parties over his plan to send more troops to Iraq, said he has the authority to act no matter what Congress wants.

"I fully understand they could try to stop me from doing it. But I've made my decision. And we're going forward," Bush told CBS' "60 Minutes" in an interview to air Sunday night.

Vice President Dick Cheney asserted that lawmakers' criticism will not influence Bush's plans and he dismissed any effort to "run a war by committee."

"The president is the commander in chief. He's the one who has to make these tough decisions," Cheney said.

*So I ask all Americans. Why Vote if the Government won't listen to the people of the land? 70% of Americans are agaist the war. Why doesn't the USA Government listen to the people?

Here are some of my stances on issues:
Abortion: Since 93% of abortions are only for birth control reasons, I wish to make it illegal to have an abortion just as a birth control

Gay Marriage: No, unless scientists find hard evidence that homoseuality is natural

War in Iraq: Finish it, but we have to make drastic changes, like going back to the UN and increasing troops more than Bush has, I do agree we should fight the Iranians in Iraq, they are just causing trouble

Economics: Whatever works, liberal or conservative, but I dont like to keep hiking up taxes and minimal wages, taking baby steps seems more sound

I am very anti-corruption, whether in my own party (Republican) or the Democrats, the Foley issue was handled badly

Immigration: Making it a crime for employers to hire illegal immigrants, cut off education, health and financial benefits for illegal aliens, and deport what we can, I also dont think the fenced is a bad idea either.

We have a law in Oregon that if a funds increase bill is put to a vote and a majority of the people voting on the bill don't turn out, then the bill is not passed. How is this legal? It is automatically casting a "no" vote for people that are too lazy or uninterested in taking the time to vote for themselves. I don't understand how something like this is legal or why no one has challenged it.
