This November I think like 5 states are going to vote on whether or not to ban gay marriage and civil unions. My question is why.
Why do we need to vote on the rights of a whole group of people? Shouldn't this just be automatic?
Canada did not have a vote on gay marriage. They realized that thier constitution gave equal rights to all citizens and that was enough for them to say that homosexuals had the right to marry as well.
How come in the United States we need to get the approval of the majority to give homosexuals their equal rights?

"It is so important that the Republicans lose, because if the Bush-Cheney-Rumsfeld-Rice team can get away with the grotesque incompetence they have exhibited in Iraq — a war that was not preordained to fail, but was never given a proper chance to succeed — it makes this country look like a banana republic."

"There are now so many books out on the Bush policy in Iraq with variations of the word "fiasco" in the title or the text that bookstores are surely going to have to be redesigned to create shelf space for this war:"

This poster has had so many relevant and favorable responses you insane idiots can be assured that you will be ignored because you are truly invisible.

Thinking people are encouraged to ignore fools, apologists and operatives on Yahoo Q&A. Your choice is to quickly branch out and write everywhere to help with abolishment of this sick Bush Administration, don't you agree?

Or, for example, if a democrat notices a republican with more liberal ideas than the opponent, will voting for the republican only hurt the the democratic voter's chances of getting his views passed in congress?

Is it better to vote by party affiliation than by scrutinizing issues each individual supports regardless of political affiliation?

....given that partisan control will greatly determine outcome of those issues, is it better for the democratic voter to stick with voting for the democrat he disagrees with, since most of his party will vote his way, and override his candidate's view anyway?

Vote for one...Is it the Iraq war, Katrina, the one time mini tax cut, border patrol, North Korea, Iran, Cuba, Guantanimo, "God" telling him to go to war, not looking for Osama, all time defecits, or fishing all the time and dragging trees atround the ranch in a cowboy hat?

No other country in the world uses that form of voting. In European countries where voting is done through computers, a paper ballot is always given, too.

Why is it that only in the USA since the 2002 elections e-vote with no paper ballots has become the norm? Isn't it easier to commit fraud when nearly half of the counties voting in November will be using Diebold AccuVote or Sequoia machines that leave no trail?

Are you following up the news on that?

He is the rockstar of the democratic party. I'm republican but I like the guy. I think he has a chance of winning but I don't think he is ready. I don't think America is ready for a minority as president.
What do you think?

As a kid I thought he was alright... but later come to find out...

The California Governor has done nothing but lie and help himself to state funds and pass lame laws for his Rich Friends. (The same people who helped elect him and also with the backing of mostly Republians, who are trying to amend the Constitution so he can become President.)

He is a known steroid abuser & sexual harasser. Arnold has made racist comments about Blacks and Latinos.

Arnold mentioned he admires Hilter. He also backed the Nazi War criminal Kurt Waldheim in 1986.

There's much more, you can go on and on...

Don't let his fame and smiling face fool you.

Please research him to unmask this fraud.

HE MUST NOT BECOME A FUTURE US PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!

I think the main reason that 3rd parties are getting such a low amount of votes is because people feel compelled to vote for the lesser of 2 evils...

Esspecially with the last 2 elections being so close. People Feel Compelled that voting against a cantidate is best done by voting for the guy that is in the other major party.

If more 3rd party cantidates were elected across the board then this would prevent the party line majority and bi-partisan in the House and Senate....

Take this quiz to see what political party you are...

This question is not about any individual candidate or party. But rather the political climate this year in general. Has it been too negative? Has any candidate anywhere run a positive and clean campaign?

Red blooded American here. Born in Little Rock AR, raised in Louisiana and Mississippi, educated (university) and hold a higher degree. What I do NOT understand why we, as Americans, are happy with an either/or government. Either you are right or you are left and those in the middle and there abouts have to either go to one extreme or the other while hoping for the best. Are there really people out there that think this is ok?! How can we get the people truly represented?? WHY ISN'T ANYONE TRYING?! I don't know where to start but someone does, so why haven't they?! This is a huge travesty and those who do not see it are both blissfully and stupidly blind. I want to hear from those who think they can defend the 'system' as is. Thank you in adv for your amens ( (I know ther there are inumerable people that agree with me but please, only answer if you have an argument for.
