The Jubilee Act calls for debt relief for some of the world's poorest nations. Experience proves that debt relief for countries committed to investing in their people's future is one of the most effective ways to fight extreme poverty.

When Tanzania's debt was canceled, that government was able to eliminate school fees, sending 1.6 million children to school almost overnight.

They spend millions lobbying against it because they want to continue to charge those outrageous prices & keep on raising them every year. That's why they don't want Hillary's Health Care Plan to pass. Many people are cofused about it, hence the controversy. Don't listen to THEM. You're smart; Please examine it & decide for yourseves before voting against it.

Liberals, for the hatred of one man, what lows will your left-wing fringe sink to next?

I first read the story here:

However, for the purpose of research, I visited the democratic underground website to confirm the story (so libs, don't accuse me of being a mindless neocon, and don't moan about the source. Here's confirmation straight from the horse's mouth):

PLEASE TELL THEM TO VOTE DOWN HR3043, IT'S UNFAIR THAT THE SENATE KEEPS TRYING TO SNEAK THIS BY THE AMERICAN PUBLIC WHEN THEY'VE CLEARLY SAID THEY DO NOT WANT THIS!

AREN'T THEY A "REPRESENTATIVE"?????

This will allow 40-80 million new residents OVERNIGHT, it's Shamnesty all over again, and we have to pay for them, for retroactive benefits, for their PARENTS to come here, and they're to get other benefits including social security and in-state tuition.

Do you agree that it is useless to own gun's in Malaysia?
The law's in Malaysia makes it so difficult to own gun's.
Even if you do get the C & U chances are you couldn't shoot straight and the responsibilities that possessing a gun brings out weight the reason of owning one in the first place.
I strongly believe that gun's should be left to those who are trained and licensed to protect people.
However Malaysian are very kia su people.
They take security issue lightly and rather take the risk than hire security for sensitive task like handling large cash deposit and withdrawal, and not to mention high value goods.
This will give the robbers plenty of choices and opportunities to strike at their will and wimps'
As such they have only themselves to blame.
I am sure it won't cost you a fortune to have a security officer for half a day to accompany you on your sensitive errant's.
If no such service is available someone should start doing something to cater to this huge group of customers.

I literally cannot afford to take off of work for jury duty...i make so little money and too many bills. I know that your work has to excuse you, but still, i cannot afford it.

The summons say to submit anything pertaining to having to miss jury duty to them in writing.

Is it worth it to explain in a letter that I need to work and make money that day. Should I attatch paystubs? bills too?

Do they take this excuse?

Um, keep in mind that I am a registered Independent voter...

I am also very proud to be a liberal. Why is that so terrible these days? The liberals were liberators—
they fought slavery, fought for women to have the right to vote, fought against Hitler, Stalin, fought to end segregation, fought to end apartheid. Liberals put an end to child labor and they gave us the five day work week! What's to be ashamed of?

In that talk he said or something along similar lines. Americans will walk on the moon by 1970, Mars 1980 and Alpha Centuri in the year 2000. How come this was never fully realsied. I know that the logistcis are quite indepth and detailed but isn't it amazing how quickly it took them to land on the moon. What a difference a charismatic leader can make to rally the country to a dream.

I'm guilty of this. I grew up in the bluest city in the bluest state in the US. I went to the second most liberal college in America, no one in my line of work votes Republican, and I've had semi-meaningful conversations with no more than 20 conservatives in my lifetime. My girlfriend's parents are rabid Bush supporters, but I've never met them, and they have little interest in talking to me.

Is my story typical? I get the sense from Yahoo Answers that it's become too easy to demonize the other side--to just get into a big circle jerk with the people on your side.

I think Bush is a dangerously incompetent president, but I wouldn't dare compare him to Hitler like some folks on this site. But I'm also mystified at folks who characterize liberals like me as some sort of immoral, baby-murdering fifth column.

i love my country philippines very much!!!
...my all serioused girlfriends are all gone to other country and settled there!
...since 2001 i work also overseas on some european shipping companies.
...since 2005 i begun to lose my comfort here in my country,,,i even never respect authorities anymore publicly(which hurts me because most of my relatives are of government services.)i lost my feeling of trust in the government,i am losing hope from time to time.
i ask you this question because i am so sorry why i became like this...i knew my grandpa's patriotism,my papa's patriotism to my country!my patriotism back into my college days is over...i was ashamed!!!
i was changed indeed,as my country plunged to the mud of political instability.
IN THE PHILIPPINES
....you'll never know who wins or lost in the election.
....you'll never know who was fighting for the people!
....you can never trust the government!
....this country runs like hell indeed!

“Justice is the end of government. It is the end of civil society. It ever has been and ever will be pursued until it be obtained, or until liberty be lost in the pursuit. In a society under the forms of which the stronger faction can readily unite and oppress the weaker, anarchy may as truly be said to reign as in a state of nature, where the weaker individual is not secured against the violence of the stronger; and as, in the latter state, even the stronger individuals are prompted, by the uncertainty of their condition, to submit to a government which may protect the weak as well as themselves; so, in the former state, will the more powerful factions or parties be gradually induced, by a like motive, to wish for a government which will protect all parties, the weaker as well as the more powerful.”
