The parties whoever it may be, have campaigns, elections to lure people to vote for them. Even when they hold meetings with locals they are unable to give proper solution from their part as they have pressure from their political leaders. They are always bothered about their seat. Citizens give some suggestions from their side and point out the irregularities which needs concern, but they donot care and only have their say, which they state important. I do not think different parties are really necessary to run the government. An active working group can take the initiative in larger public ineterst. And perform a good governance.

It is an indirect participation which ends with your casting of the vote but you the voter gets the oppertunity to force a change when the situation arises. Also the power of the vote is so great that both political party and leaders are constantly concerned about public back lash so to that extend it is your participation.

Citizens can get behind the candidate that you think most represents your views and gather with other party members and campaign, have block parties and other gatherings to inform citizens about your candidate as well as raise money for your Candidate, put bumper stickers on our vehicles and campaign signs in our yards and places out in our community. As Americans we have the freedom to participate in the election process by supporting our candidate by our actions and our vote!
