Interest groups defeat the purpose for which the officials are voted for. It is the concern of the interests groups that are given preference by the officials rather than the people who voted for them.

Quite accurate and if you have the money to buy a Congressman or a Senator You can be a specail intrest group too, just like LaRaza for pro illigal immigration...others can be found too..
