Why do people in the US believe everybody should have equal rights to vote and rights to speech but support unequal distribution of wealth and property. I support political rights for all but I also believe that wealth and property should never be monopolised by a tiny minority who exploit the rest of society and can aslo use their wealth to corrupt the political system. Workers should run the economy and shareholding company boards should be replaced by workers councils with profits goin into investment back into the economy and state run schools and hospitals. Profits from economic activity should go back into society and not used for filthy rich capitalists to live obscene lifestyles. Do many people agree?

A friend of mine went to the Airport and was shocked by a question from the Immigration officer regarding a missing page in the passport. He was travelling to the United States with a Valid B1/B2 Visa. Though the Visa page is safe, the immigration officer refused to approve since a page was missing.
Now, what should be the next step ? Does he need to get a new passport and go for US Consulate again to get a new Visa ? Or, a new passport with the Visa in the existing passport would suffice ?

Since the travel is of high priority, Any quick answers is highly appreciated.

Okay, I'm being a little off the wall, but there are so many religious claims to Jerusalem, would the area be better served by taking it away from everyone and then forcing them to share?

I know what would happen in reality. More violence. But that would prove my point.

Bringing down corruption in the government, and demanding answers for the American people? I am so proud of my country and this congress, for doing the right thing, in the face of immense criticism. Thanks to both dems and reps for standing up to this admin! I don't know the last time I saw a 94-2 vote from such an evenly divided senate...and then some follow up! Great americans worthy of respect!

I'm a firm believer in open government and it makes me very suspicious when the President claims executive privilege on an issue that has nothing to do with foreign affairs or homeland security. By his own admission Gonzales screwed the pooch. So why make this such a media spectacle and then complain that he's wants to avoid a media spectacle? There is precedent for a President to claim executive privilege and still all let his advisors appear under oath. Reagan did it during Iran-Contra. Is Bush happy to keep this little media spectacle going, because any distraction from Iraq, illegal immigration, globalization and every other important issue is politically advantagious?

I work for a school district as a grant writer. I am required to spend 14 to 16 hours per day during the week and on weekends to get grant proposals prepared, usually during a two week period about every six weeks. This is due in part to clerical vacancies that have not been filled.

Okay, guys and gals, enough is friggin’ enough. What is it going to take before you admit to the world that Bush has finally gone too far? His latest stunt is over the top.

He gives Karl Rove and Harriet Miers the green light to disclose to Congress their roles in the firing of eight federal prosecutors. However, the meeting must be private; no transcript; no public disclosure; and their testimony cannot be under oath. Are you kidding me? Where’s the accountability? Bush claims executive privilege and argues that testifying under oath would compromise the integrity of his relationships with his top aides. Too friggin’ bad!

If they can be so wrong about us, can we be sure we know ANYTHING about what drives them? I can't find which Hollywood Producer is writing movies for Bush. Do you know?
