I believe we are now allowing more immigrants into the country (than any other eu nation) to make up for;-
(dont laugh think about it, if thinking does not work get stoned you will see my point!!)
the crusades
the empire (and subsequent withdrawl and collapse of dependent nations )
The slave trade.

We have a guilt complex (as a nation) because of these things and are now trying to make up for it through our ludicrous asylum and imigration policy. What other country would allow somebody illegal acsess through their borders not grant them leave to stay and then pay for them to stay whilst the Solicitors (which we also pay for) attempt to change the decision makers mind????

GUILT ITS GUILT I TELL YOU!!!!

I for one was not party to the slave trade, did not attempt to convert any non-christians and have never tried to collonise parts of the world. I dont want to pay for this anymore, i cant afford to work 1 week in 4 for free.

Phew rant over

carry on

Conyers Releases Massive New Report on Bush-Cheney Crimes

The minority staff of the U.S. House of Representatives Judiciary Committee, under the leadership of Congressman John Conyers (D., Mich.) just released a staggering report with the hard evidence of crimes and abuses committed by President Bush and his administration (breaking 26 specific laws). This report, "The Constitution in Crisis," should provide the raw material for numerous news reports and point reporters toward fertile ground for additional investigations.

Personally, I don't like the Democrats or the Republicans, but in some major elections, I've voted for one of the major parties. In a Presidential election would you vote for a lower-profile party that supported your values or one of the major parties who didn't, just because you knew they were more likely to get elected? Yes/ No, Why?

So my roommate moved out (not a happy ending), and I haven't spoken to her since (no desire to since she stole from me). She is apparently stupid enough not to change her address to her new apartment, so I am still getting her mails. Mostly junk but some are important. I just want to know if it's OK to just thraw them away. Yes I could be nice to return them, but I am not that nice. I figure since she doesn't care enough to change her address, why should I? Is there a law saying I have to do something with other people's mails?

I'm not Bush bashing, just wanting to know if we the people are doing the best we can to serve our nation for all, not just the wealthy.

Why is it that in the United States, particularly in Southern California, a Caucasian individual, such as myself, cannot speak on the issue of illegal immigration without being labelled a racist? Has it not occurred to those who support rights for ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS that they are supporting rights for FEDERAL CRIMINALS? I am not opposed to Mexican immigration, so please do not label me as a racist, I just want them to do it legally. We are swamped in SoCal already, with illegal immigrants taking advantage of welfare, emergency rooms, etc. Don't you think that, as American citizens, Caucasians should be able to speak out against something like this without being called racist, as long as they use logic and not race based hate?

At least he doesn't loath the military like your buddy Bill Clinton. As for the DUI in 1976. . .While I hate drinking and driving he paid his fine and his licence was suspeneded. What happened when Ted Kennedy killed someone with his drinking and driving? I really don't thik the libs want to go here they will lose.

When Kennedy, Johnson, Carter & Clinton were president, they had loud and vocal critics (usually conservatives and right wingers). I cannot recall supporters of these men calling for those critics to "love it or leave it" or call into question their patriotism. Yet, if one dares to be critcal of Bush and his ilk, all of sudden, these critics are "unpatriotic"; should not be critical of the president because we are "at war"; kind of "my country right ot wrong." Did we not learn the fallacy of this from Viet Nam? Anyway, why is it that those on the right are so intolerant of disagreement? Could it be lack of confidence? Or just what?
