I have to admit that I missed that one, too. Apparently, dodging all together (Clinton) or serving honorably, then bashing the military when you came home (Kerry) was acceptable.
Al Gore served for under two years, of which almost five months was actually in Vietnam. I would consider his service the "best", although far from the average soldier who signed up.
What I've learned over the years is that every party has their scandals, so you have to look at general policy to determine who to vote for.

They have a genuine fixation on a man they cannot control like they could clinton. I don't like or agree with everything Bush has done buy he is president and as such he does deserve the respect of the office.
Ironically, this is the same thing liberal dems said we had to do for clinton, now when its Bush those rules don't apply somehow.

Shall we talk about Dubya's admitted snorting of cocaine or are we just going to kind of forget about that? It definitely fried what little brains he had and impaired his ability to speak correctly. As for his Air National Guard "service" - he got in because Daddy was rich - those were the only people who got into the Guard - everybody else went to Nam. Bush, cowardly motherf***er that he is, went into the Guard, spent most of his time working on political campaigns and even went AWOL, but of course, Daddy's influence got him out of that. Let's face it - your hero is a COWARD, DRUG USER and ADMITTED DRUNK. I wouldn't want my kids to grow up like him.

Please tell us the details of his service Ethan, and not just bring it up to tear down Democratic public servants. Since you brought it up though:
How did he get into the Texas ANG in the first place?
Why did he lose his flight status?
Why did he refuse to take his physical?
Why can't anyone find ONE person who can vouch that he spent even ONE DAY in the Alabama ANG when poppy sent him to work on a friend's political campaign?
Why did he refuse overseas service when he signed up?
Why were most of the relevant documents covering most of the above destroyed?
Don't change the topic Ethan....I don't want to hear about Kerry, or Clinton. You brought it up, try to tell us all about Chimpy's glorious service to his country.

Because he didn't even show up for duty. And he was going up against a guy that actually served in Vietnam. Amazing they could make the guy that went AWOL seem tougher and more military savvy.

Rather than admit this boob is doing an awful job as far as the average American citizen is concerned, you go an attach the liberals.
How about this article explaining Bush's service duty?

The have a lot more to talk about than that after his years of presidency.
Maybe you should ask why the neocons talked trash about Kerry's service in vietnam including his purple heart.

awww... is someone mad that someone brought up the past?
I guess Republicans are the only ones allowed to talk about the past... I didn't know?
and apparently you have to compare both Ted Kenedy and Clinton to Bush, since neither of them will do individually against Bush's transgressions...

THANK YOU!!!!!!! Finally someone with a brain! I could not agree with you more. The reason that they talk about it as though it doesn't matter is because they want to discredit him anyway they can, they would be complaining if he had been a 5 star general for crying out loud.

Clinton wasn't hypocritical. You know- saying he supports something when he doesn't and consequently failing to meet his obligations, therefore squandering thousands of tax-payer dollars on training, etc.
Notice how Bush's pattern of behavior is repeating itself? That's why they didn't want us to know about his being AWOL, the cover-up and the lies.
