i was watching some clips of old news casters and how, they were just so much more informative, instead of crazy (left or right, liberal or conservative) just getting angry at everyone.....anyone else sick of the usless crap given by the news?

I was looking for information on a seriel killer to help someone in the homework section. I found this website that is just gross and well, too weird for words.
It has actual crime scene photos that are just nasty.
But wait, it gets worse:
It says:
Are You An Active
Uncaught Serial Killer?

Have You Ever Fantasized
About It Or Plotted To Kill?
IF SO CLICK HERE TO ANONYMOUSLY SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS AND FANTASIES

Aren't there any regulations for the internet?

SYDNEY (AFP) - Santas in Australia's largest city have been told not to use Father Christmas's traditional "ho ho ho" greeting because it may be offensive to women, it was reported Thursday.

Sydney's Santa Clauses have instead been instructed to say "ha ha ha" instead, the Daily Telegraph reported.

Billionnaire Rupert Murdoch is a self-described conservative whose News Corporation owns Fox News, MySpace, The Wall Street Journal, 20th Century Fox, HarperCollins and is reportedly negotiating deals with Digg.com and LinkedIn.com.

My question is: is there a liberal equivalent to Murdoch's News Corporation? Specific details would be appreciated.

There was a meeting of the intelligent design people, I think in Kansas. I only heard part of the report on the radio. (This was on public radio this morning, not a joke)

whats the real deal with mass media, all I ever hear is you only a mouthpiece for the establishment, is this true, and if it was why wouldn't you report it? apathy? fear of job loss? I feel the only place to get "real news" is the daily show/corbet report. You know "the fool is the only person who can be honest in the kings court" kind of thing.
Where is a really good news source?

foolish ministers do a lot of harm when they speak without compassion?
When I was hospitalized after I lost my baby back in the '90s, a minister came to cheer me up and the first thing he told me was that we are all born in sin. I couldn't believe someone would say that to a grieving mother who had just lost a child. I don't believe in Hell, but if he does, he's welcome to go.
Reply : I am touched deeply by what you have just said. It is bad enough that ministers say things like things like that to their congregations, but when they have no more sense than to say that to a grieving woman, they are despicable creatures

i know this is old but you guys know about the whold michael vick situation (well most of you) I was watching something on cable tv a couple of months ago and this guy was killing reindeer just to get it's antlers. I was just thinking that if this guy can actually go on television and kill these animals, why isn't he punished? but michael loses his football career for a dog fight. that isn't fair.
i know this is old news but it just got to thinking.

Is is to ensure that we DO feel less guilty when we over spend at Christmas? I know that when I did a Business/Economics study 10 years ago, one of our lecturers said (and it stuck in my mind) that every goverment wants to stimulate a spending bug in their society as it keeps a country going, encourages foreign investors, and creates a healthy enviroment financially. I know in a broad generalisation this may be true, but I think its a big hype to already forcast in the media that everyone is going to overspend and worry about debts after Christmas.. its like giving everyone the green light to go and get that loan or do their credit card in a bit more. Scary no?? We all do it, but how much does the media effect our decision or spending behaviour this time of year? Or are we even aware of it as being a tactic?

No wonder nobody trusts the media anymore, they can't the difference between crap and important information. On the CNN website they had a story about Britney spying on K-fed, a furr ball in a girls intestine, a mayor in Arkansas being abducted by satan, and a death related to a tongue piercing. My God, who is in charge over there, Homer Simpson?

I'm not surprised. Van Der Sloot looks like an arrogant spoiled kid and he probably did kill her. He probably thought he was gonna get away with it.
