Billionnaire Rupert Murdoch is a self-described conservative whose News Corporation owns Fox News, MySpace, The Wall Street Journal, 20th Century Fox, HarperCollins and is reportedly negotiating deals with Digg.com and LinkedIn.com.

My question is: is there a liberal equivalent to Murdoch's News Corporation? Specific details would be appreciated.

In this day and age of a conservative-biased media, I don't believe there is a liberal equivalent to Murdoch. The concept of the Fourth Estate serving as a guardian to the people and watchdog of government malfeasance is obsolete. Today, the media is all part of big business and even bigger government. And - the corporate and governmental worlds collide to benefit their own largess instead of serving any benefit to the general public.
